Choose-a-Color Keyed Alike Lockout Padlocks

Useful for lockout identification practices, these padlocks come in a variety of colors to catch your eye. Assign a color to individual people or departments, such as blue for plumbing or red for electrical. Use them with cables and other lockout devices to keep equipment off during maintenance or repairs. This helps you comply with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147 procedures. All have a pin-tumbler key locking mechanism, which is the most difficult locking mechanism to pick. The more pins a lock has, the harder it is to pick.
Choose these locks if you need several locks that open with the same key. If the lock or key with the key number you want isn’t listed, order the "Other Key Numbers" and specify your desired key number.
Style A locks have an aluminum body that resists corrosion better than locks with a steel body, but they’re not as strong. Their shackle is either aluminum or boron alloy, both of which resist corrosion better than a hardened steel shackle. Locks with an aluminum shackle have an FDA-approved lubricant, so you can use them in food production facilities. They also have a compact body that fits into tight spaces, such as inside electrical cabinets. Locks with a boron alloy shackle have the hardest and most cut-resistant shackle material. Key-retaining locks don’t let you remove the key from the lock until you close the shackle. This helps you properly secure locks before walking away with the key, reducing risk in lockout applications.
Style B locks have a steel body, so they are stronger than locks with an aluminum body. To prevent breaking from prying, shimming, or tapping, they are dual dead locking, so both ends of the shackle lock inside the padlock body. The hardened steel shackle is stronger than an aluminum shackle. A bumper around their body protects sensitive surfaces from damage if the lock knocks against them.

Aluminum-body locks balance strength and corrosion resistance. They’re stronger than zinc-body locks but not as strong as steel-body locks, and they’re more corrosion resistant than both.
Hardened steel shackles are tougher to cut or pry than steel shackles. Those that are copper-nickel-chrome plated have an added layer of corrosion resistance and strength.
Locks with a pin-tumbler key locking mechanism are harder to pick than locks with a disc-tumbler key locking mechanism. The more pins a lock has, the harder it is to pick.
Style D and E locks have a bumper around the body, so they won’t nearby scratch surfaces.

Cut-Resistant Keyed Alike Padlocks

Raised shoulders cover most of the shackle on these padlocks, making it difficult to access and cut. More secure than standard padlocks, these are often used on unmanned access gates and other areas where added security is needed. Choose them if you need several locks that open with the same key. If the lock or key with the key number you want isn’t listed, order the "Other Key Numbers" and specify your desired key number.
Style B padlocks have a steel body, so they’re stronger and withstand physical attacks better than locks with a brass body. All are chrome plated for extra strength and corrosion resistance.
Locks with a pin-tumbler key locking mechanism are harder to pick than locks with a disc-tumbler key locking mechanism. The more pins a lock has, the harder it is to pick.

Weather-Resistant Extra-Clearance Keyed Alike Padlocks

Secure items with large hasps or thick chains outdoors. These padlocks have a longer shackle than typical padlocks. Use them around your facility, both indoors and out, to prevent theft and unauthorized access.
Steel-body locks are strong, and they’re less likely to deform from break-in attempts than brass-body locks. Brass-body locks have excellent corrosion resistance, but they’re not as strong as steel-body locks.
Locks with a cover have extra protection against weather and impact. They’re a reliable choice for securing equipment, such as valves, in harsh outdoor environments. Those with a plastic cover shield the key cylinder from water and debris. The plastic won’t scrape nearby surfaces.
Hardened steel shackles are stronger than stainless steel shackles, but they don’t stand up as well to corrosion. Brass shackles are more corrosion resistant than hardened steel shackles, but they’re not as strong.
Style C and D locks have a bumper around the body, so they won’t scratch nearby surfaces.

Weather- and Cut-Resistant Keyed Alike Padlocks

Lock gates and outdoor equipment without worrying about the shackle being cut. These padlocks have raised shoulders that cover most of the shackle, making it difficult to access. Made from materials that resist corrosion from rain and snow, they’ll operate smoothly even when exposed to the elements. Choose them if you need several locks that open with the same key. If the lock or key with the key number you want isn’t listed, order the "Other Key Numbers" and specify your desired key number.
All have a pin-tumbler key locking mechanism, which is harder to pick than padlocks with a disc-tumbler key locking mechanism. The more pins a lock has, the harder it is to pick.

Steel-body padlocks are strong, and they’re less likely to deform from break-in attempts than brass-body padlocks. They have a plastic cover to protect the padlock body from weather and impact.
Padlocks with a dual-locking shackle prevent attempts to force them open from prying or shimming because both ends of the shackle lock inside the padlock body.
Boron alloy shackles are the hardest and most cut-resistant shackle material. They also resist corrosion better than hardened steel shackles.
