Screw-In Base Light Bulbs

Use these bulbs in standard sockets, panels, and appliances. Brightness is measured in lumens; the higher the lumens, the brighter the bulb. Bulbs with a warm light appearance have yellow tones. Bulbs with a neutral light appearance are commonly used in workspaces. Bulbs with a cool light appearance have white/blue tones and are good for inspecting. A bulb’s estimated yearly energy cost is based on 3 hours of usage per day at $0.11 per kWh.
CFL (compact fluorescent) bulbs are more energy efficient and last longer than halogen bulbs. It takes several seconds for them to reach full brightness. They contain small amounts of mercury (for disposal information, visit www.epa.gov/cfl).
Silicone-coated glass and plastic-coated glass bulbs are shatter-resistant; the coating retains glass shards if they do break.
Bulbs that cannot be sold to the listed regions do not meet energy efficiency and/or mercury regulations.

Brightness is measured in lumens; the higher the lumens, the brighter the bulb. Color rendering index (CRI) is a measurement on a scale of 0-100 of how accurately the light from a bulb represents an object's true colors; the higher the number, the more natural the colors appear. Any CRI value over 80 will show colors true to life. Bulbs with a warm light appearance have yellow tones. Bulbs with a neutral light appearance are often used in workspaces. Bulbs with a cool light appearance have white/blue tones and are good for inspecting. A bulb’s estimated yearly cost is based on 3 hours of usage per day at $0.11 per kWh.
LED bulbs last longer and are more efficient than fluorescent bulbs. They generate little heat and withstand vibration. To install, bypass the ballast by wiring the socket directly to the power source. Plastic-coated glass bulbs are shatter resistant; the coating retains glass shards if they break.

LED Light Bulbs for High-Intensity Discharge (HID) Lights

Replace high-intensity discharge (HID) lights with the longer-lasting, energy-efficient LEDs. Brightness is measured in lumens; the higher the lumens, the brighter the bulb. LED lights are perceived as brighter at night than high-intensity discharge light technologies, so they require fewer lumens to provide the same brightness. Match your old light’s wattage to find the right LED bulb. A bulb’s estimated yearly cost is based on 3 hours of usage per day at $0.11 per kWh.
Ballast bypass bulbs eliminate the need for a ballast, so the socket must be wired directly to the power source.

Recessed Can Lights
Create recessed can lights by pairing a housing with a light. These lights fit into ceiling cutouts to provide directed, ambient lighting so they’re often used in indoor spaces such as offices and lobbies, or for decorative lighting. Rated for use in damp locations, these lights withstand humidity and moisture.
Lights have built-in LEDs, which last longer, are more efficient, and generate less heat than other technologies. Clips on the sides hold the light in a housing.
Smooth-reflector lights focus light down.
Lights with a hardwire connection have two switches for adjusting their brightness and light appearance.
Warm light highlights yellow tones similarly to incandescent bulbs. Neutral light is often used in offices and retail stores. Cool light is best for performing detailed tasks and inspections.
