About Durometer Hardness Scales

Rubber Trim
Made of rubber, this trim resists abrasion better than plastic trim. Often used on panels, boards, signs, and mirrors, it protects edges from impact. Push this trim onto an edge and it grips on three sides for a tight hold. All are very flexible so it can bend around tight corners.
Trim with a hard rating withstands high levels of impact. Trim with a medium hardness rating offers a balance of cushioning and impact resistance.
EPDM trim is UV, ozone, chemical, and abrasion resistant. It can be used outdoors.
Neoprene trim has good oil and abrasion resistance. It's nonmarking. Styles 1-7 can be used outdoors. Styles 8 and 9 cannot be used outdoors.
SBR trim has better abrasion resistance than EPDM and neoprene. It is not for use outdoors. Style 9 is nonmarking.

Food Industry Rubber Trim
Guard the edges of panels, signs, glass, and other surfaces in food plants from frequent bumps and scrapes. This trim is FDA compliant, so it’s safe to directly touch food. Since it’s made of rubber, it resists wear better than plastic trim. It also stands up to chemicals, UV rays, and ozone. A hard rating means it withstands high levels of impact.

Conductive Rubber Trim
This trim safeguards equipment from static electricity by diverting electrostatic charges quickly. Made of nitrile rubber, it resists abrasion better than plastic trim. It also resists UV, ozone, and chemicals. Use this trim to protect the edges of electronics equipment and circuit boards from impact. Push it onto an edge and it grips on three sides for a tight hold. All of this trim is very flexible so it can bend around tight corners. Made of PTFE, it has a slippery surface to minimize friction between parts and is often used on conveyor rails, chutes, and guides. It's also chemical resistant. This trim has a hard or medium-hard rating to withstand high levels of impact. The harder the trim, the more impact it withstands. All of the trim is nonmarking.
Very flexible trim can be bent around tight corners.
Adhesive-back trim allows for easy installation. It is not for use outdoors.
