Coat tight-fitting metal parts, such as gears, clutches, and press-fit assemblies, with these lubricants before sliding them together to make assembly easier. Once assembled, they provide initial lubrication in equipment before oil has a chance to flow.
Mineral-oil-based lubricants, derived from petroleum, are more economical than synthetic-oil-based lubricants. Lubricants with moly (molybdenum disulfide) withstand high-pressure applications and have excellent wear resistance. Lubricants with graphite have additional pressure resistance and excellent temperature resistance. All Dupont Molykote lubricants have a high load-carrying capacity. Molykote G-Rapid Plus Paste is often used to assemble threaded spindles, gears, screws, and pumps. It can be used as an initial lubricant.
