    Assembly Lubricants

    Coat tight-fitting metal parts, such as gears, clutches, and press-fit assemblies, with these lubricants before sliding them together to make assembly easier. Once assembled, they provide initial lubrication in equipment before oil has a chance to flow.
    For hoses and other tight-fitting parts, apply these lubricants to rubber or plastic before assembling and disassembling. After drying, they lose their lubricity, so parts stay together. They leave no residue on assembled parts.
    Mineral Oil Base—Mineral-oil-based lubricants, derived from petroleum, are more economical than synthetic-oil-based lubricants.
    Synthetic Oil Base—Synthetic-oil-based lubricants last longer than mineral-oil-based lubricants.
    DuPont Molykote G-Rapid Plus Paste—Molykote G-Rapid Plus Paste is often used to assemble threaded spindles, gears, screws, and pumps. It can be used as an initial lubricant and has a high load-carrying capacity.
    DuPont Molykote DX Paste—Molykote DX Paste has good corrosion resistance. It provides long-lasting lubrication after assembly and has a high load-carrying capacity.
    DuPont Molykote M-77 Paste—Molykote M-77 Paste is commonly used on brakes and clutches; it is compatible with material that is damaged by mineral oil, such as natural rubber, SBR, and EPDM. As a paste it lubricates to 445° F; after drying, it continues to lubricate at temperatures up to 660° F. It has a high load-carrying capacity.
    Graphite Additive—Lubricants with graphite have additional pressure resistance and excellent temperature resistance.
    Molybdenum Disulfide Additive—Lubricants with moly (molybdenum disulfide) withstand high-pressure applications and have excellent wear resistance.

    Solid and Paste Milling, Drilling, and Turning Coolants

    An alternative to nearly dry machining, apply these coolants to tools before milling and machining to reduce heat with minimal cleanup. They’re often used with shallow drilling, reaming, and tapping, as well as on saw blades. Remove from tools and work surfaces with alcohol, methyl ethyl ketone, or a parts washer. They are chlorine free, for use where chlorine waste disposal is a concern, and sulfur free. Use at full strength.
    Jar—Coolant in a jar is a paste. It can also be used as a bending and forming paste.

    DuPont Molykote P-37 Thread Paste—DuPont Molykote P-37 Thread Paste won’t drip out of connections, so it’s good for use in areas where cleanliness is a concern.
    Loctite® LB 8012 Moly Paste—Loctite® LB 8012 Moly Paste contains 65% moly. It fills in surface imperfections to reduce friction.
    Graphite Additive—Lubricants with graphite have good chemical and corrosion resistance, along with excellent temperature resistance.
    Molybdenum Disulfide Additive—Lubricants with moly (molybdenum disulfide) withstand high-pressure applications and have excellent wear resistance.

    Use this lubricant on insertion heaters to easily install and remove them from tight-fitting holes. This lubricant is thermally conductive and withstands high temperatures, so it helps transfer warmth from the heater to the object it's inserted in.
