Calibrated-Dial Magnetic Field Indicators with Certificate of Calibration

These indicators come with a calibration certificate traceable to NIST that states they've passed a test for accuracy. All are calibrated at 72° F. In addition to measuring the strength of a magnetic field in gauss, they also measure the direction of a magnetic field in positive/negative. To take a measurement, place the lower edge of the indicator near or against your tools and parts.

Plug-In Magnetic Particle Flaw-Detection Kits

This kit comes with a yoke that creates a magnetic field on the part you’re inspecting—apply the powder on ferrous metal and the defects appear.

Particles for Magnetic-Particle Flaw Detectors

Test metals for faulty seams, welding defects, and fatigue cracks, assuring they will be safe even under high stress. Unlike other flaw detectors that only find surface defects, magnetic particles also reveal imperfections slightly below the surface. Use them with magnetic flaw detectors to magnetize your material; particles are attracted to and move towards imperfections.
These particles help you follow ASTM E1444 or ISO 9934, which outline standard practices and quality controls for magnetic particle testing. Approved for use by the military, these particles meet MIL and NAVSEA testing standards, meaning they’re good to use when performance and safety is critical.
Powder particles let you see test results with the naked eye.
When testing round or hard-to-reach material, it’s easier to apply an even layer of spray particles than powder. In order to see the results, you must use a UV light. When under the light, the fluorescent color stands out, so you spend less time examining each part. Use oil-based spray when corrosion is a concern, but it’s harder to clean up than water-based spray.
