Plastic Tweezers
Choose plastic tweezers for a soft, nonmarring grip. These tools are corrosion resistant and nonmagnetic. They also prevent buildup from electrostatic discharge (ESD) that can damage sensitive equipment.
Tweezers with slim tips allow more visibility of your work than standard tips. Tweezers with bent or curved tips reach over and around obstructions to maximize visibility.
Tweezers with pointed tips firmly grip your object but may mar its surface. Tweezers with square tips are wide and flat for a good grip on thin sheets and labels. Tweezers with round tips won’t nick or mar your object’s surface, but they don’t grip as firmly as pointed tips.
PVDF tweezers are very abrasion and wear resistant and withstand a variety of acids and other harsh substances. They’re often used in the semiconductor industry.

Extended-Reach Tweezers
Extra-long tips provide access to material in hard-to-reach areas.
Tweezers with round tips won’t nick and mar material you’re working with, but they don’t grip as well as pointed tips.
400 series stainless steel tweezers have good corrosion resistance and harder, more durable tips than 300 series stainless steel, but aren’t quite as strong as steel. They are mildly magnetic. Those with plastic-coated tips won’t mar delicate components.
Squeeze-to-Open Tweezers
Hold small parts without the need to apply pressure. Squeeze these tweezers to open the tips and release to close them.
Tweezers with offset tips keep whatever object they’re holding elevated when they’re set down on a surface. This is useful if you need both hands free.
Tweezers with round tips won’t nick or mar your object’s surface, but they don’t grip as tight as pointed tips. Tweezers with trapezoid tips give you a good grip on large, flat components. 400 series stainless steel tweezers have good corrosion resistance and are mildly magnetic. Plastic-coated steel tweezers won’t mar delicate components.
