About Nuts, Materials, and Finishes

Grade 5, Class 6, and Class 8 steel nuts are suitable for fastening most machinery and equipment. Zinc-plated steel nuts resist corrosion in wet environments.

Grade 8 steel nuts are 25% stronger than Grade 5 steel nuts. A zinc yellow-chromate plating provides excellent corrosion resistance in wet environments.

18-8 stainless steel nuts are chemical resistant and may be mildly magnetic.

Heavy Duty Twist-Resistant Rivet Nut Assortments

A ribbed-shaped body holds the nut in place so it won't move when tightening a screw. Assortments contain rivet nuts, mandrels, nosepieces, and a plier-style installation tool. Made from zinc yellow-chromate plated seel, they resist corrosion in wet environments. To install, thread a rivet nut onto the mandrel, insert the nut into a drilled hole, and squeeze the handles to secure the nut.

Low-Profile Rivet Nut Assortments

Use these rivet nuts for light duty fastening in low-clearance applications. Assortments include rivet nuts, mandrels, and an installation tool. Rivet nuts have a cadmium plating that provides corrosion resistance and adds lubricity so they collapse smoothly.
