Coat tight-fitting metal parts, such as gears, clutches, and press-fit assemblies, with these lubricants before sliding them together to make assembly easier. Once assembled, they provide initial lubrication in equipment before oil has a chance to flow.
Synthetic-oil-based lubricants last longer than mineral-oil-based lubricants.
Lubricants with moly (molybdenum disulfide) withstand high-pressure applications and have excellent wear resistance. All Dupont Molykote lubricants have a high load-carrying capacity. Molykote M-77 Paste is commonly used on brakes and clutches; it is compatible with material that is damaged by mineral oil, such as natural rubber, SBR, and EPDM. As a paste it lubricates to 445° F; after drying, it continues to lubricate at temperatures up to 660° F.
