Coat tight-fitting metal parts, such as gears, clutches, and press-fit assemblies, with these lubricants before sliding them together to make assembly easier. Once assembled, they provide initial lubrication in equipment before oil has a chance to flow.
For hoses and other tight-fitting parts, apply these lubricants to rubber or plastic before assembling and disassembling. After drying, they lose their lubricity, so parts stay together. They leave no residue on assembled parts.
Synthetic-Oil Base—Synthetic-oil-based lubricants last longer than mineral-oil-based lubricants.
Molykote M-77 Paste—Molykote M-77 Paste is commonly used on brakes and clutches; it is compatible with material that is damaged by mineral oil, such as natural rubber, SBR, and EPDM. As a paste it lubricates to 445° F; after drying, it continues to lubricate at temperatures up to 660° F. It has a high load-carrying capacity.
Molybdenum Disulfide Additive—Lubricants with moly (molybdenum disulfide) withstand high-pressure applications and have excellent wear resistance.
