Pear-Shaped Threaded Connecting Links—Not for Lifting

The narrow end restricts the movement of rope and chain, and the wide end allows room to attach multiple connectors. These links thread closed by hand or with a wrench, so they’re also known as quick links. Use them to hang, pull, and secure loads. The nut must completely cover the threads for these links to handle their maximum capacity. All can be reused.
Links with an eyelet have an even narrower end for keeping rope in place. Use this end for permanent connections.
Zinc-plated steel links are mildly corrosion resistant.
316 stainless steel links have excellent resistance to salt water and chemicals.

Pear-Shaped Riveted Hammer-Close Connecting Links—Not for Lifting

Restrict rope and chain movement with the narrow end, attach multiple connectors to the wide end, and then hammer these links closed. Using a ball peen hammer, strike the prongs until they expand and hold the link together. Made of galvanized steel, these links have a thick coating for corrosion resistance. Never reuse these links after they've been closed.

Pear-Shaped Links—For Lifting

Limit rope and chain movement with the narrow end of these links and attach multiple connectors to the wide end. These links meet strict ASME safety standards for lifting.
Links for Grade 100 chain are approximately 20% stronger than links for Grade 80 chain.
316 stainless steel links have excellent resistance to salt water and chemicals.
Note: Capacities listed are for vertical lifting only. As the angle changes from vertical, the amount of weight the link can lift is significantly reduced.
