How to Identify and Measure Fittings
Pipe size is an industry designation, not the actual size. View information about how to measure threaded and unthreaded pipe and pipe fittings.
More
CPVC Pipe Fittings for Hot Water

Made of CPVC, these fittings can handle high temperatures up to 200° F. They have thick, strong walls to handle heavy duty industrial plumbing and water supply applications, such as water processing and waste water treatment. They also have good corrosion resistance. These fittings are comparable to Corzan. Some meet ASTM D1784 specifications and testing requirements for material quality.
Warning: Never use plastic pipe fittings and pipe with compressed air or gas.
Sealants cannot be sold to Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Northern Virginia, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, or Utah due to local regulatory limits on VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds).

To prevent leaks in threaded connections, apply a non-hardening, plastic-compatible sealant to the male threads. Tape or sealants with PTFE are not recommended for plastic-to-plastic threaded connections. When making a threaded connection be careful not to overtighten the threads. To prevent cracks and leaks, finger tighten the fitting, then wrench-tighten one to two turns.

Plastic Barbed Hose Fittings for Chemicals and Petroleum

Made of plastic, these fittings are lighter in weight than metal barbed fittings, yet have the chemical and corrosion resistance to stand up to harsh substances. Slide the barbed end into plastic or rubber hose and secure with a clamp. Also known as hose nipples, they adapt a barbed end to a threaded end.
Nylon fittings are stronger than PVDF fittings. They have good corrosion and chemical resistance to handle gasoline and other fuel applications.
PVDF fittings have better chemical and corrosion resistance than nylon fittings. Use them when your application involves harsh acids.

Metal Cam-and-Groove Hose Couplings with
Shut-Off Valve for Chemicals and Petroleum

Made of corrosion-resistant 316 stainless steel, these couplings withstand chemicals, fuels, gasoline, and oils. Also known as dry disconnects and double shut-off couplings, they have a shut-off valve in the plug and the socket for minimal fluid loss when disconnecting the hose line. A complete coupling consists of a plug and a socket (both sold separately). Use them to quickly connect and disconnect medium-to large-diameter hose lines. To connect, insert the plug into the socket, press the locking levers down, and turn the handle on the socket to the open position. The socket has locking levers to prevent accidental disconnection. To disconnect, turn the handle on the socket to the closed position, lift both locking levers, and pull out the plug. Couplings cannot be disconnected when the valves are open. They are not compatible with any other style of coupling.
Note: To ensure a correct fit, make sure that the plug and socket have the same coupling size.
Warning: Relieve all pressure before disconnecting the couplings. Do not use cam-and-groove couplings with compressed air or gas.

International Standard ISO Minimal-Spill
Quick-Disconnect Hose Couplings for Chemicals

To minimize fluid loss when connecting and disconnecting your line, these couplings have flat faces for a close fit and shut-off valves to stop the flow—they meet ISO 16028, which is an international standard for hose couplings. They’re also known as flush-face and double shut-off couplings. A complete coupling consists of a plug and socket (both sold separately). They connect and disconnect quickly, so use them if you need to access a line frequently. Made of 316 stainless steel, they have excellent corrosion resistance and withstand a variety of chemicals.
Plugs are also known as nipples.
Sockets are push-to-connect style. To connect, push the plug into the socket until you hear a click. To disconnect, slide the sleeve on the socket forward until the plug ejects. These sockets have an internal fluoroelastomer gasket that resists a wide range of chemicals, including benzene, butyl alcohol, and ethylene glycol.
Note: To ensure a correct fit, make sure that the plug and socket have the same coupling size. Pressure ratings are given for static (constant) pressure conditions.
Warning: Never attempt to connect or disconnect couplings when operating at maximum pressure. Stop the flow before you disconnect the line.
