Use this nylon 6/6 film as a protective barrier against wear. It has a slippery surface that reduces friction.
Often used as a separator when heating parts in an oven, this wear-resistant film can also protect surfaces when etching or sanding. Also called PET and PETE, polyester resists swelling when exposed to moisture. When used as a separator, film should be cut larger than the piece it is being released from.
Film with a smooth texture releases cleanly from rubber and most synthetic resins. This film is skived, so the edges may curl.

Widely used as packaging, this polyester film absorbs almost no moisture and resists swelling in wet environments. It is also known as PET and PETE.
The slippery surface on this FEP film prevents sticking. Use it as a release film when making molded parts.
PFA film retains its performance properties through a wide range of temperatures. It is often used to insulate cables.
Stronger and more chemical resistant than FEP and PFA film, ETFE film resists cracking over time.
This shim stock is color-coded by thickness for easy identification. Cut it into custom shapes to fit your application. Shim stock is corrosion resistant. Sheets come flat packed.
Plastic shim stock works well in light duty applications. It's easier to cut than aluminum stock.

For accurate leveling, choose materials such as steel or stainless steel, which are hard enough to resist scratching and deforming. Softer shims, like copper or aluminum, can be used as wear plates between components that rub together, preventing damage to equipment. Metal shims include a material certificate with traceable lot number and test report.
PTFE plastic shim stock is slippery, so it can be used to reduce friction between parts. It also has excellent chemical resistance.
