    Ultra-Machinable Delrin® Acetal Strips

Image of Product. Front orientation. Plastic. Ultra-Machinable Delrin® Acetal Strips.
These strips resist expanding when exposed to heat and moisture, so they can be easily machined to close tolerances. They also have a naturally slippery, wear-resistant surface. Use them to make precision gears, bushings, and bearings. Delrin® acetal resin, also known as acetal homopolymer, is stronger and stiffer than acetal copolymer.

    Shim Stock

Image of Product. Front orientation. Shim Stock. Sold Individually.
Cut into custom shapes to create shims that suit your needs. With thickness tolerances as fine as a strand of hair, the shims will precisely align, space, and level components on dies, presses, and machinery.
You can stack multiple shims to achieve your exact thickness, but stacking more than four may cause them to shift. Remember, fewer shims are better, so a couple of thicker shims are more stable than a bunch of thin shims.
Ultra-Chemical-Resistant PTFE—The most chemical-resistant shim stock we offer, it stands up to the widest range of harsh acids, bases, solvents, and corrosive cleaners, even at temperatures up to 500° F. It also won't mar delicate surfaces.
Plastic—Softer than metal, it won't mar delicate surfaces and it will never rust.

    Electrically Insulating Hard Fiber

Image of Product. Front orientation. Hard Fiber. Electrically Insulating Hard Fiber.
Widely known as fishpaper and vulcanized fiber, these thin sheets offer better electrical insulation than standard hard fiber sheets. They are constructed from lightweight cotton fabric that's been chemically treated to make it hard and dense.

    Carbon Fiber Sheets

Image of Product. Front orientation. Contains Inset. Carbon Fiber. Carbon Fiber Sheets, Twill Weave.

    Twill Weave

Use these resin-free carbon fiber sheets to reinforce or repair existing composites as well as create new composites. Mold custom-shaped composite parts by layering carbon fiber sheets with an epoxy. The epoxy (sold separately) is a two-part resin that begins to harden in 15 hours and reaches full strength in 4 days. Finished composite pieces withstand temperatures up to 250° or 350° F.
Carbon fiber is the strongest composite we offer.
Twill Weave—Sheets with a twill weave have fibers that are woven in alternating directions for uniform strength and rigidity in all directions. Easier to machine than carbon fiber sheets with a unidirectional weave, their woven pattern holds the fibers together to limit splintering. Twill-weave sheets are stronger than plain-weave sheets. They’re also more flexible, making them easier to manipulate into complex shapes. They will not, however, retain their shape as well as plain-weave sheets.
