Our most popular thread-forming screws for plastic also resist rust. Thread them directly into molded or cast holes—no inserts needed. Screws won’t crack or distort material when fastening enclosures, panels, and other plastic components. The Phillips drive handles enough torque to keep drivers from slipping and the rounded head creates a finished look.

Length is measured from under the head.

18-8 Stainless Steel—The choice for wet and outdoor environments, these screws resist rust. However, they won't hold up to the harsh chemicals that 316 stainless steel can.

Highly Corrosion-Resistant 316 Stainless Steel—Superior to 18-8 stainless steel, these screws withstand harsh weather, salt water, and most chemicals.

Tri-Lobe—The tri-lobular shank forms threads in thermoplastics such as polypropylene and ABS. These screws displace material to create a tight fit that resists vibration and prevents backing out. Because the shank isn’t round, the diameter will vary slightly depending on where you measure it. Also known as Plastite® screws.

Round—The sharply angled threads drive into plastic with less force and a lower risk of cracking than other tapping screws. The base of the threads is recessed to bite deep into material and hold tight. You can reuse these screws a few times without stripping the threads. They're comparable to PT screws.

Steel Torx Rounded Head Thread-Forming Screws for Plastic


	Tri-Lobe Shank Cross Section

Thread these screws into plastic without installing an insert or stripping the drive. Also known as star drive screws, these withstand more torque than screws with a slotted, Phillips, square, or hex drive. They press threads into molded or cast holes and won’t crack or distort the material. Use them to fasten plastic components, enclosures, and panels, and their rounded head creates a finished look.

Black-Oxide Steel—Typically chosen for their appearance, these screws have a dark, matte coating for a finished look. They offer minimal corrosion resistance, so they're best for dry environments.

Zinc-Plated Steel—A common choice for areas with occasional exposure to moisture.
