Prepare metal, wood, and concrete for paint. Primers adhere to underlying surfaces to create a base layer that bonds well with paint for a long-lasting finish.
Apply primer in a one-gallon can with a brush, roller, or sprayer. Use red primer on rusty and abrasive-blasted steel. Follow with a coat of gray primer.
