How to Identify and Measure Fittings
Pipe size is an industry designation, not the actual size. View information about how to measure threaded and unthreaded pipe and pipe fittings.

Open-Flow Quick-Disconnect Hose Couplings for Air and Water
Couplings allow for maximum flow because there’s no shut-off valve in the plug or the socket. A complete coupling consists of a plug and a socket (both sold separately) that connect and disconnect quickly. Use them if you need frequent access to a line. All Open-Flow plugs are compatible with any of the Open-Flow sockets of the same coupling size, regardless of the pipe size. They are compatible with Hansen ST, Parker ST, and Perfecting E couplings.
Plugs are also known as nipples.
Zinc-plated steel plugs are stronger and more durable than other metal plugs. They have fair corrosion resistance, so they should be used primarily in dry environments. Brass plugs and sockets are softer than other metal plugs and sockets, so they’re easier to thread together. They have good corrosion resistance. 303 stainless steel plugs and sockets have very good corrosion resistance. They’re the best choice for high-humidity environments.
Note: To ensure a correct fit, make sure that the plug and socket have the same coupling size.
Warning: There is no valve in these couplings. Stop the air and water flow before you disconnect the line.

Metal Barbed Hose Fittings for Air and Water
Slide the barbed end into rubber hose and secure with the appropriate clamp or crimp-on hose ferrule.
Zinc-plated steel fittings are stronger and more durable than other metal fittings. They have fair corrosion resistance, so they should be used primarily in dry environments.
Brass fittings are softer than other metal fittings, so they’re easier to thread together. Plain brass fittings have good corrosion resistance. Fittings that swivel until tightened rotate 360° for easy installation. Fittings with a threaded end are also known as hose nipples.
Metric, UN/UNF (SAE Straight), and BSPP male threads with gasket protect against leaks. UN/UNF (SAE Straight) threads are also known as O-ring boss threads.

Tight-Seal Barbed Hose Fittings for Air and Water
Also known as ball-seat hose nipples, these fittings consist of a barbed shaft with a rounded end that sits inside a female threaded nut. When mated with a male threaded fitting, the rounded end presses tightly against the inside of the male threads for a better seal than a single-piece fitting. Once assembled, insert the barbed end into rubber hose and secure with a clamp or a crimp-on hose ferrule. The nut swivels until tightened for easy installation. Fittings are brass for good corrosion resistance.
NPSM (National Pipe Straight Mechanical) female threads are compatible with male NPT and NPTF (Dryseal) threads.

Nuts for High-Pressure Nipples for Compressed Gas
Slide a high-pressure hose nipple for compressed gas into one of these nuts to connect a pipe to the inlet of a pressure regulator. They are also known as CGA (Compressed Gas Association) nuts and inlet nuts.
Brass nuts have good corrosion resistance and are softer than 316 stainless steel nuts, so they're easier to thread together. Chrome-plated brass nuts have comparable corrosion and wear resistance to aluminum-plated brass nuts, and have a bright, shiny appearance.
Note: Nuts have a CGA, BS, or DIN number that corresponds to a specific type of gas. Choose a nut with the same number as your tank and other system components.

Nickel-Plated Brass Push-to-Connect Tube Fittings for Air
- For Use With: Air, Lubricated Air
- Temperature Range: 0° to 140° F, except plugs and straight connectors are 32° to 140° F
- Tubing: Fittings with Release Ring and Fittings with no Release Type: Use with firm or hard (Durometer 95A-60D) nylon plastic, polyethylene plastic or polyurethane rubber
Fittings with Release Sleeve: Use with firm or hard (Durometer 95A-60D) polyethylene plastic or polyurethane rubber
Made of nickel-plated brass, these fittings have better corrosion resistance than unplated brass fittings. Also known as instant fittings, they connect to tubing with a push, and an internal gripping ring and O-ring hold the tubing tight. To disconnect, push on the release ring or sleeve and pull the tubing out of the fitting.
Fittings with release sleeve are easier to disconnect than fittings with a release ring because they are seamless and won't collect dirt and debris.

Low-Profile High-Pressure Quick-Disconnect Tube Couplings for Air
- Temperature Range: -30° to 250° F
- Tubing: Use with firm or soft (Durometer 35A-90A) Buna-N rubber, EVA plastic, gum rubber, latex rubber, neoprene rubber, polyurethane rubber, PVC plastic or silicone rubber, except for fittings with pipe end
With no latch, these couplings have a compact design to fit in small spaces. They connect with a push and disconnect with a pull, so you can easily access your line. Couplings consist of a plug and a socket (sold separately). They have a universal connection, so the plugs will connect to any of the sockets regardless of the pipe or tube size. They are nickel-plated brass for very good corrosion resistance.
Note: For a complete coupling, order a plug and a socket.
For technical drawings and 3-D models, click on a part number.
Sockets with shut-off have a valve to stop the flow when the coupling is separated, so air won’t leak from your line.
Through-wall plugs and sockets are also known as bulkhead and panel-mount plugs and sockets; they mount through your wall or panel to create an inlet or outlet.

A nut with two sleeves (ferrules) gives these fittings extra gripping power. The sleeves bite into tubing as you tighten the nut, creating a strong seal. Also known as instrumentation fittings, they are made to tight tolerances for use in high-precision applications. Fittings are brass for good corrosion resistance. They are compatible with Swagelok®, Let-Lok, and A-Lok fittings.

37° Flared Fittings for Steel Tubing
- Tubing: Use with seamless steel
- Specifications Met: SAE J514
Also known as JIC (Joint Industrial Council) fittings, these provide a tight metal-to-metal seal on tubing that is flared to 37°. They require a nut and a sleeve (ferrule) for each tube end. Nuts and sleeves are sold separately. Fittings are zinc-plated steel for fair corrosion resistance.
NPTF (Dryseal) threads are compatible with NPT threads.

O-Ring Face Seal Fittings for Steel Tubing
(SAE Straight) Male
Threads with Gasket
- For Use With: Air, Hydraulic Fluid
- Temperature Range: -30° to 250° F, except BSPP fittings are -20° to 230° F
- Tubing: Use with seamless steel
- Specifications Met: SAE J1453
A tube adapter sits flush against the flat face of the fitting so you can slide the tubing and fitting sideways to disconnect in cramped spaces. Fittings are also known as zero-clearance fittings. To install, weld a tube adapter to the tubing with a brazing ring (sold separately), then mate the tube adapter to the fitting and screw on the nut. As the nut is tightened, the tube adapter compresses the O-ring, creating a strong seal. Fittings are zinc-plated steel for fair corrosion resistance. Nuts and tube adapters are sold separately.
BSPP and UN/UNF (SAE Straight) male threads have a gasket to prevent leaks. UN/UNF (SAE Straight) threads are also known as O-ring boss threads.
