Aluminum Perforated Sheets

Aluminum is lightweight. These sheets have good corrosion resistance, weldability, and formability.

3003 Aluminum—3003 aluminum is softer than 5052 aluminum, so it has better formability. With a good combination of formability, weldability, and strength, it’s often used for filters, fuel tanks, and general sheet metal work.

5052 Aluminum—5052 aluminum is more corrosion resistant than 3003 aluminum, and is good for use in saltwater environments. It’s also harder and stronger for greater wear resistance. It’s often used in storage tanks, pressure vessels, and marine applications.

Expanded Panels—Raised

Expanded panels are more rigid than perforated panels and are for use when structural stability is important. They can be formed and welded; however, they are more difficult to cut than perforated panels.

Raised panels have strands that overlap to provide a skid-resistant surface. Use them to create safety guards for equipment and machinery.

Flattened panels begin as raised panels, then they're rolled to a smooth and flat finish. Use them to create protective enclosures, shelving, grilles, and baskets.

1100 Aluminum—1100 aluminum is about half the weight of steel and resists corrosion in wet environments.

3003 Aluminum—3003 aluminum is easier to form than 1100 aluminum. It's about half the weight of steel and resists corrosion in wet environments.

Extra-Rigid Aluminum Filter Mesh

Also known as space cloth, wires are crimped where they intersect to maintain an accurate opening size when used with heavy materials. The crimping process also adds strength and rigidity. This filter mesh is often used as barriers, shields, dividers, and guards.
