    Shim Stock

Image of Product. Front orientation. Shim Stock. Sold Individually.
Cut into custom shapes to create shims that suit your needs. With thickness tolerances as fine as a strand of hair, the shims will precisely align, space, and level components on dies, presses, and machinery.
You can stack multiple shims to achieve your exact thickness, but stacking more than four may cause them to shift. Remember, fewer shims are better, so a couple of thicker shims are more stable than a bunch of thin shims.
18-8 Stainless Steel—The choice for wet and outdoor areas because it resists rust. However, it will corrode or pit when exposed to salt water and chemicals.
Carbon Steel—Best for dry areas since moisture will cause it to rust.
Brass—Picked for its warm, polished look. Similar to 18-8 stainless steel, it resists rusting in wet and outdoor areas.
Plastic—Softer than metal, it won't mar delicate surfaces and it will never rust.
Temper Rating—Choose half hard to create shims that you’ll need to bend or shape. Opt for full hard to make stronger shims that will maintain their shape under loads.

    Aluminum Foil

Image of Product. Front orientation. Aluminum. Aluminum Foil.
Shield, insulate, and make quick repairs—aluminum foil is a jack-of-all-trades. Wrap it around pipe to hold in heat and keep out moisture, or around wire to block electromagnetic interference. To patch damaged insulation, tape it over tears and holes. You can also use it to cover surfaces while painting and processing.
Annealed—This foil is softened until it's as flexible as possible, often called "dead soft." It conforms to complex shapes and contours, making it a good choice for sealing joints and wrapping HVAC ducts.

    High-Temperature Polyester Film

Image of Product. Front orientation. Plastic. High-Temperature Polyester Film.
Often used as a separator when heating parts in an oven, this wear-resistant film can also protect surfaces when etching or sanding. Also called PET and PETE, polyester resists swelling when exposed to moisture. When used as a separator, film should be cut larger than the piece it is being released from.
Skived—Skived products are more likely to curl than extruded and molded products.
Smooth Texture—Film with a smooth texture releases cleanly from rubber and most synthetic resins.

    High-Vacuum Aluminum Foil

Image of Product. Front orientation. Aluminum. High-Vacuum Aluminum Foil.
Disperse heat evenly without contaminating high-vacuum systems. “A” wettable according to ASTM B479, this foil is completely free of oil that could interfere with your system’s vacuum. It’s sealed in plastic and packed in a plastic box, so you can trust it’s contaminant-free. You can also use it in clean rooms and other environments where dust and oil might jeopardize your system. Also known as UHV (ultra-high-vacuum) foil.
