Flame and Arc-Flash Cold-Protection Face Masks
These face masks meet NFPA 70E standards for protection against electrical arc flashes for personal protection equipment (PPE) category 2. Check the PPE category and minimum arc rating provided for your workplace, and then select all required clothing and personal protective equipment to meet the minimum arc rating. Arc rating measures a garment’s ability to insulate the wearer from burns; the higher the arc rating, the greater the flame resistance. These hats are made of abrasion-resistant aramid/viscose blend fabric, which keeps you warm without accumulating moisture.

Cold-Protection Hard-Hat Liners
Add a layer of warmth to your hard hat. Use the hook and loop attachments to fasten liners to the suspension of your hat and to secure under your chin.
Cotton provides better breathability than nylon.
Polyester fleece insulation is moisture wicking to prevent moisture build up.
Sherpa fleece insulation is warmer than other fleece linings. It is soft and thick, yet lightweight.
Liners with two layers of insulation have a layer of polypropylene fiber, as well as a layer of polyester fleece, for extra warmth.

Stretch these form-fitting guards over hard hats to provide warmth and protection from the wind. They are made of moisture-wicking polyester to prevent moisture buildup.
Flame- and Arc-Flash-Protection Face Masks
Protect your head from electrical arc flashes. These face masks won’t melt or drip when exposed to intermittent flames. They meet NFPA 70E standards for personal protection equipment (PPE) category 2. Check the PPE category and minimum arc rating provided for your workplace, and then select all required clothing and personal protective equipment to meet the minimum arc rating. Arc rating measures a garment’s ability to insulate the wearer from burns; the higher the arc rating, the greater the flame resistance. Masks are soft, breathable, and washable.
Westex® UltraSoft® Rib fabric is a lightweight material that’s 88% flame-resistant cotton and 12% nylon knit.
CarbonX fabric is double-layered for better flame resistance than Westex® UltraSoft® Rib fabric.
Welding Face Masks
These face masks are double-layered to protect your head from radiant heat, flames, and welding sparks. They are designed to meet NFPA 1971 standards for structural firefighting.
Nomex aramid is heavier than PBI, yet breathable and moisture wicking.
PBI is lightweight and provides better wear- and heat-resistance than Nomex.
Shop Face Masks
Also known as painters' spray socks, these face masks are often used to protect against paint and dust. They are made of breathable, washable cotton.

Clean Room Hoods
Designed to meet clean room standards, these hoods act as a barrier between the worker and the room to prevent pollutants, such as dust particles and microbes, from contaminating a space.
Lower clean room classes have fewer and smaller contaminants.
Tyvek polyethylene holds up to occasional contact with nonhazardous liquids, such as water and paint spray. It is made of heat- and pressure-bonded fibers for a material that’s soft yet strong. These hoods are disposable.
Polyester greatly outlasts Tyvek polyethylene. It withstands liquid splashes and abrasion and is reusable when laundered to clean room standards—lasts for up to 100 washes. Must be laundered prior to first use.
Disposable Hoods
Breathable to keep you cool and comfortable, these hoods protect against dirt and grime. An elastic face opening keeps hair in and contaminants out.
Polypropylene offers economical protection in environments where abrasion resistance and liquid splashes are not a concern.
Tyvek polyethylene provides better tear and abrasion resistance than polypropylene. It holds up to occasional contact with nonhazardous liquids, such as water and paint spray. It is made of heat- and pressure-bonded fibers that form a barrier that's soft yet strong.
Kleenguard polypropylene is made of five layers of nonwoven fabric, so it is more abrasion resistant and harder to tear than Tyvek polyethylene. It holds up to occasional contact with nonhazardous liquids, such as water and paint spray. The material is antistatic, so it protects sensitive equipment from electrostatic discharge.
