Choosing an Electrical Switch

Battery Disconnect Switches
Stop battery drain and prevent the theft or unauthorized use of equipment by disconnecting batteries when not in use.
Knob, key, and T-handle actuators can be removed to limit access to the switch. Horizontal lever actuators are a good choice when space is tight, such as when you have a cover over your battery.
Use remote-mount switches to cut power to your battery from a distance. Run a battery cable from the battery to the switch. Dial actuator switches come with a remote rocker switch that installs into a panel.
Switches with a fused bypass maintain a trickle of current to accessories, such as radios and computers.
Switches with a wing nut accommodate lug terminals.
Switches with a lockout secure in the off position with a padlock (not included).
