    Thrust Ball Bearings

Image of Attribute. Front orientation. Contains Annotated. Thrust Bearings. Thrust Ball Bearings.
For silky-smooth motion, the balls inside these bearings roll nearly friction-free. You'll often find them at the end of a shaft or between a stationary and rotating surface, such as on a propeller or rotary table.
These bearings come as three separate pieces—one cage and two washers. The cage holds the balls in place, while the washers create a surface for the balls to roll on. This design is easy to lubricate, but the oil will attract dust and grime since it's exposed.
Steel—Strong and wear resistant. However, these bearings are best for dry environments since moisture will cause them to rust.
Stainless Steel—These bearings won't degrade from water or mild chemicals, such as the ammonia in cleaning solutions. However, they're not as strong as steel bearings.

    Dry-Running Flanged Sleeve Bearings

Image of Product. Front orientation. Contains Annotated. Flanged Sleeve Bearings. Dry-Running Flanged Sleeve Bearings.
Made of naturally slippery plastic so you’ll never have to add lubricant. They’re ideal for clean environments where you need to prevent oil drips or graphite flakes. Compared to metal bearings, they are lighter and will never rust.
Flanged sleeve bearings combine a sleeve and thrust bearing in one. The flange supports thrust loads and prevents the bearing from being pushed out of place. The sleeve is the simplest way to support the load of a rotating shaft while reducing friction. Also known as plain bearings.
MDS-Filled Nylon—A step up from standard nylon bearings. Upgraded with fine particles of molybdenum disulfide (MDS), these bearings have extra lubricity and wear resistance. However, they’re still nylon, which will swell and weaken when exposed to moisture.
High-Load PEEK—Get the strength of reinforced PTFE without compromising on heat resistance. With no additives, such as polyester fabric, PEEK bearings won’t melt at high temperatures. They’re also nearly as slippery and chemical resistant as plain PTFE.

    Dry-Running Thrust Bearings

Image of Product. Front orientation. Thrust Bearings. Dry-Running Thrust Bearings.
Made of naturally slippery plastic so there's no lubricant to maintain or make a mess. These bearings are ideal for spic-and-span spaces since oil won't drip off, wash out, or collect dust over time. They'll also never rust.
High-Load PEEK—Our strongest all-plastic bearings. PEEK also resists a range of harsh chemicals, including most acids and bases.

Shims for Ball Bearing Outer Rings

Image of Product. Front orientation. CrossSection, ZoomedIn view. Contains Annotated. Shims. Round, For Ball Bearing Outer Rings, Sold Individually.
Boost bearing efficiency and lifespan. Often used on motor shafts, these shims evenly distribute the load between multiple bearings by creating space between their outer rings. This prevents excessive pressure on any single bearing, maintaining proper alignment for smooth operation and reduced wear.
You can stack multiple shims to achieve your exact thickness, but stacking more than four may cause them to shift. Remember, fewer shims are better, so a couple of thicker shims are more stable than a bunch of thin shims.
18-8 Stainless Steel—The choice for wet and outdoor environments, these shims resist rust. However, they’ll corrode or pit when exposed to salt water and chemicals.
Highly Corrosion-Resistant 316 Stainless Steel—Superior to 18-8 stainless steel, these shims won't degrade when exposed to harsh weather, salt water, and most chemicals.
Brass—With a warm, polished look, these shims are often chosen for their appearance. Similar to 18-8 stainless steel, brass is corrosion resistant enough to stand up to wet environments.

With ID tolerances sized specifically for reamers, these bushings ensure steady and precise hole finishing. Press them into a fixture plate with a manual or hydraulic press for permanent installation. Also known as headless bushings, these ANSI-type P bushings don’t need counterboring to be mounted flush. They are made of hardened, ground steel that holds its shape and resists wear, so they last for many cycles without needing to be replaced.
