    Four-Point Angular Contact Ball Bearings

Image of Product. Front orientation. Ball Bearings. Four-Point Angular Contact Ball Bearings.
Support complex movement in multiple directions with a single compact bearing. The balls distribute weight at four points, so these bearings handle radial, thrust, and moment loads all at once. For example, you’ll often find them in robot arms, which rotate, extend, and twist while supporting an object’s weight. Thinner than two standard angular contact ball bearings paired together, these bearings squeeze into tight spaces. They’re commonly paired with large hollow shafts to run electrical wire and other lines.
Open—With no rubber seal to block airflow, these bearings dissipate heat quickly, extending the life of the lubricant and reducing friction over time.
Steel—Strong and wear resistant. However, these bearings are best for dry environments since moisture will cause them to rust.
ABEC Rating—Bearings with an ABEC rating meet industry tolerance standards established by the Annular Bearing Engineers Committee (ABEC). They're rated on a scale from 1 to 9. The higher the rating, the tighter the tolerance. Bearings rated ABEC 1 or 3 are precise enough for most applications. If your application consistently runs at high speeds or requires high accuracy, consider bearings rated ABEC 5 or higher, since they generate less friction and heat.

    Quick-Mount Ball Bearings

Image of Product. Front orientation. Ball Bearings. Quick-Mount Ball Bearings, Set-Screw Shaft Mount.

    Set-Screw

    Shaft Mount

Slip onto a shaft and secure with the turn of a screw. You don't need any special tools to mount these bearings.
Set-Screw Shaft Mount—Tighten the screws against the shaft to hold the bearing in place. For high-speed applications, consider clamp-on shaft mounts, which are less likely to slip.
Black-Oxide Steel—Strong and wear resistant. However, these bearings are best for dry environments since moisture will cause them to rust.
Sealed—The best choice for dirty environments. A barrier seals out dust so it won't gunk up or wear down the balls. However, these bearings retain the most heat since air can't flow through.
Smoother than smooth—the balls inside these bearings roll nearly friction-free. The sturdy housing bolts down to support shafts as they turn.
Lubricate regularly to keep your bearing in tip-top shape. Bearings with seals and shields keep lubricants in and contaminants out, and come packed with grease. Open bearings require initial lubrication and offer less protection against dust and debris.
Nickel-Plated Cast Iron Housing—Combine the strength of iron with the corrosion resistance of stainless steel at an affordable price point. Nickel-plated iron is also unlikely to chip.
Set Screw—Turn the screw to lock your shaft in place. A simple, reliable choice, set screws grip tightly, but they can mar shaft surfaces.
Misalignment Capability—Bearings compensate for as much shaft misalignment as the degree listed. This extends the life of the bearing and protects against wear if shafts are slightly askew.

Mounted Tapered-Roller Bearings with Four-Bolt Flange

Image of Product. Front orientation. Contains Annotated. Mounted Bearings. Mounted Tapered-Roller Bearings with Four-Bolt Flange.
Support heavier loads than mounted ball bearings, but at lower speeds. These bearings also withstand thrust loads, which are forces acting parallel to the shaft. The four-bolt flange supports shafts with a stronger connection to the mounting surface than two-bolt alternatives.
Lubricate your bearings regularly to keep them in tip-top shape. These bearings come packed with grease and sealed to block out dust and contaminants.
Powder-Coated Cast Iron Housing—A rugged iron base coated in thick powder that protects against water, mild detergents, and oil. However, if the coating is scratched or chipped, the underlying iron may rust.

    Oil-Embedded Flanged Sleeve Bearings

Image of Product. Front orientation. Contains Annotated. Flanged Sleeve Bearings. Oil-Embedded Flanged Sleeve Bearings.
Install and forget these self-lubricating bearings. All are made from porous metal and saturated with oil to reduce maintenance and downtime. A good all-around choice, they are used in everything from palm-sized fans in electronics to tire-sized pulleys. Although these bearings will work in most conditions, oil may drip away if temperatures get too high. Consider a graphite-lubricated bearing for higher temperatures or places where you can’t afford the mess. All are fabricated, lubricated, and inspected in the U.S.
Flanged sleeve bearings combine a sleeve and thrust bearing in one. The flange supports thrust loads and prevents the bearing from being pushed out of place. The sleeve is the simplest way to support the load of a rotating shaft while reducing friction. Also known as plain bearings.
841 Bearing Bronze—A classic choice for a starter pick. Also known as SAE 841 bearings.
Synthetic Oil Base—A high-quality lubricant makes all the difference. Synthetic oil is less sensitive to temperature changes than mineral oil, so it won't get runny and leak away at higher temperatures.

    Ultra-Low-Friction Oil-Embedded Thrust Bearings

Image of Product. Front orientation. Thrust Bearings. Ultra-Low-Friction Oil-Embedded Thrust Bearings.
Our slipperiest metal thrust bearings glide on machines with frequent starts and stops, such as conveyors. Their oil contains nonstick PTFE particles that reduce wear and heat, extending the life of your equipment. All are fabricated, lubricated, and inspected in the U.S.
841 Bearing Bronze—A balance of strength and speed makes these bearings a good choice for most applications. Also known as SAE 841 bearing bronze.
High-Load 863 Iron Copper—Iron makes these bearings harder, stronger, and more resistant to sudden starts and stops than 841 bearing bronze. However, they run at slower speeds. The increased iron content also makes them appear silver.
Synthetic Oil Base—A high-quality lubricant makes all the difference. Synthetic oil is less sensitive to temperature changes than mineral oil, so it won't get runny and leak away if the bearing heats up.

    Wide-Rim Shims

Image of Product. Front orientation. Shims. Wide Rim, Round, Sold Individually.
Spread loads across a wider surface area than standard shims to minimize costly wear between components. With thickness tolerances as fine as a strand of hair, these shims precisely align, space, and level components on shafts, arbors, and machinery.
You can stack multiple shims to achieve your exact thickness, but stacking more than four may cause them to shift. Remember, fewer shims are better, so a couple of thicker shims are more stable than a bunch of thin shims.
18-8 Stainless Steel—The choice for wet and outdoor environments, these shims resist rust. However, they’ll corrode or pit when exposed to salt water and chemicals.
Carbon Steel—Best for dry environments since moisture will cause these shims to rust.
Zinc-Plated Carbon Steel—A common choice for areas with occasional exposure to moisture.

With a porous surface that releases oil over time, this bronze lubricates itself. Turn it into parts that you can't easily access to relubricate, such as bearings, well pumps, and turbine blades. The oil may burn away if temperatures climb too high, however. For extreme heat up to 700° F, consider graphite-embedded bearing bronze instead.

    Oil-Embedded Thrust Bearings

Image of Product. Front orientation. Thrust Bearings. Oil-Embedded Thrust Bearings.
Our simplest-to-use thrust bearings, with no moving parts and no need to lubricate. Their porous surface releases oil over time, so you can install and forget them. While they run in most conditions, oil may drip away if temperatures climb too high. For extremely hot environments, consider graphite-lubricated bearings. All are fabricated, lubricated, and inspected in the U.S.
841 Bearing Bronze—A balance of strength and speed makes these bearings a good choice for most applications. Also known as SAE 841 bearing bronze.
Synthetic Oil Base—A high-quality lubricant makes all the difference. Synthetic oil is less sensitive to temperature changes than mineral oil, so it won't get runny and leak away if the bearing heats up.

Highly Wear-Resistant Machinable Cast Nylon Round Tubes

Image of Product. Front orientation. Plastic. Highly Wear-Resistant Machinable Cast Nylon Round Tubes.
The addition of MDS gives these tubes exceptional wear resistance along with a self-lubricating surface. They're made of cast nylon 6, making them easier to machine and better electrical insulators than other MDS-filled nylon tubes. Tubes can be used to fabricate pulleys, bushings, and bearings installed in hard-to-reach areas where adding a lubricant would be difficult. This material is comparable to Nylatron and Nycast.
Oversized Tolerance—Oversized tubes have an oversized OD and an undersized ID for finishing to the sizes listed.
