    Permanently Lubricated Ball Bearings

Image of Product. Front orientation. Ball Bearings. Permanently Lubricated Ball Bearings.
Install and forget these self-lubricating bearings. Their lubricant is a solid material that fills the space between the balls and releases oil over time, so you'll never need to add more.
Open—With no rubber seal to block airflow, these bearings dissipate heat quickly, extending the life of the lubricant and reducing friction over time.
Sealed—The best choice for dirty environments. A barrier seals out dust so it won't gunk up or wear down the balls. However, these bearings retain the most heat since air can't flow through.
Corrosion-Resistant 440C Stainless Steel—Combine the strength of steel with the corrosion resistance of stainless steel. These bearings won't degrade from water or mild chemicals, such as the ammonia in cleaning solutions. However, they'll weaken when exposed to salt water and harsh chemicals, such as bleach.
ABEC Rating—Bearings with an ABEC rating meet industry tolerance standards established by the Annular Bearing Engineers Committee (ABEC). They're rated on a scale from 1 to 9. The higher the rating, the tighter the tolerance. Bearings rated ABEC 1 or 3 are precise enough for most applications. If your application consistently runs at high speeds or requires high accuracy, consider bearings rated ABEC 5 or higher, since they generate less friction and heat.

    Needle-Roller Bearings

Image of Product. Front orientation. Roller Bearings. Needle-Roller Bearings.
Also known as drawn-cup roller bearings, these are our thinnest roller bearings. The outer ring is drawn out to form a lip that holds the bearing together. Bearings take on the shape of their housing and may be oblong prior to installation.
Open Bearing—Open bearings dissipate heat more efficiently than sealed bearings.
Sealed Bearing—Sealed bearings block out dust and other contaminants better than open bearings, but retain more heat.

Install these bearings inside a housing and they won't budge. The flange presses against the housing wall, so vibration and other sudden forces parallel to the shaft (thrust loads) won't knock them off-kilter.
Open—With no rubber seal to block airflow, these bearings dissipate heat quickly, extending the life of the lubricant and reducing friction over time.
Shielded—The balls are covered just enough to keep out large particles while allowing air to pass through and dissipate heat.
Steel—Strong and wear resistant. However, these bearings are best for dry environments since moisture will cause them to rust.

    Dry-Running Flanged Sleeve Bearings

Image of Product. Front orientation. Contains Annotated. Flanged Sleeve Bearings. Dry-Running Flanged Sleeve Bearings.
Made of naturally slippery plastic so you’ll never have to add lubricant. They’re ideal for clean environments where you need to prevent oil drips or graphite flakes. Compared to metal bearings, they are lighter and will never rust.
Flanged sleeve bearings combine a sleeve and thrust bearing in one. The flange supports thrust loads and prevents the bearing from being pushed out of place. The sleeve is the simplest way to support the load of a rotating shaft while reducing friction. Also known as plain bearings.
Nylon—The most popular choice, nylon is wear resistant yet economical. Keep in mind, though, that it will swell and weaken when exposed to moisture.
Moisture-Resistant Acetal—These bearings won’t warp or swell from humidity or direct contact with water, unlike nylon.
Ultra-Chemical-Resistant PTFE—The most chemical-resistant bearings we offer. PTFE is unaffected by the harsh fluids that other plastics can't handle, including all strong acids and bases. PTFE also reduces friction better than nylon but is not as strong.
High-Load PEEK—Get the strength of reinforced PTFE without compromising on heat resistance. With no additives, such as polyester fabric, PEEK bearings won’t melt at high temperatures. They’re also nearly as slippery and chemical resistant as plain PTFE.
High-Load Moisture-Resistant Rulon LR—Won’t swell in wet or humid places, similar to acetal, but can support higher loads. These bearings also operate smoothly from cryogenic to oven-like temperatures.
Moisture-Resistant Ultra-Low-Friction Plastic Blend—These bearings won't warp or swell from humidity or direct contact with water. They glide effortlessly for applications with frequent starts and stops, such as conveyor systems.

    Oil-Embedded Sleeve Bearings

Image of Product. Front orientation. Sleeve Bearings. Oil-Embedded Sleeve Bearings.
Install and forget these self-lubricating bearings. All are made from porous metal and saturated with oil to reduce maintenance and downtime. A good all-around choice, they are used in everything from palm-sized fans in electronics to tire-sized pulleys. Although these bearings will work in most conditions, oil may drip away if temperatures get too high. Consider a graphite-lubricated bearing for higher temperatures or places where you can’t afford the mess. All are fabricated, lubricated, and inspected in the U.S.
With no moving parts, sleeve bearings are the simplest way to support the load of a rotating shaft while reducing friction. Also known as plain bearings.
Extreme-Load Heat-Treated Iron Copper—Our strongest oil-embedded sleeve bearings. They’re heat treated to form a uniform internal grain that makes them stronger than 863 iron copper. As a result, they’re often used to support extreme loads in earth-moving equipment and railroad applications. The increased iron content makes these bearings appear silver.
Mineral Oil Base—Mineral oil consistently lubricates at most temperatures but doesn’t last as long as synthetic oil.

    Thrust Ball Bearings

Image of Attribute. Front orientation. Contains Annotated. Thrust Bearings. Thrust Ball Bearings.
For silky-smooth motion, the balls inside these bearings roll nearly friction-free. You'll often find them at the end of a shaft or between a stationary and rotating surface, such as on a propeller or rotary table.
These bearings come as three separate pieces—one cage and two washers. The cage holds the balls in place, while the washers create a surface for the balls to roll on. This design is easy to lubricate, but the oil will attract dust and grime since it's exposed.
Steel—Strong and wear resistant. However, these bearings are best for dry environments since moisture will cause them to rust.

Dry-Running Flanged Sleeve Bearings for Food and Beverage

Image of Product. Front orientation. Contains Annotated. Flanged Sleeve Bearings. Dry-Running Flanged Sleeve Bearings for Food and Beverage.
Made of plastics permitted by the US FDA for contact with food, these bearings won’t release harmful, smelly, and distasteful impurities into your food or beverage production line. These self-lubricating plastics eliminate the need for oil, resulting in less maintenance and improved hygiene. You’ll find them inside food-processing equipment such as mixers, conveyors, and fillers.
Flanged sleeve bearings combine a sleeve and thrust bearing in one. The flange supports thrust loads and prevents the bearing from being pushed out of place. The sleeve is the simplest way to support the load of a rotating shaft while reducing friction. Also known as plain bearings.
Moisture-Resistant Plastic Blend—Similar to UHMW, these bearings will keep their shape after washdowns but won’t hold up to steam cleaning. They're bright blue so they are easy to spot if they fall into your production line.

    High-Temperature Graphite-Lubricated Sleeve Bearings

Image of Product. Front orientation. Sleeve Bearings. High-Temperature Graphite-Lubricated Sleeve Bearings.
Made of a graphite and metal alloy, these bearings stay slippery at high temperatures where oil burns off and other bearings fail. With no need for refills, they require little to no maintenance. You’ll find them in pumps, propellers, and mixers that spin near steam or inside ovens. However, graphite may eventually flake off, dropping flecks and leaving smudges. If you need a spic-and-span space, consider dry-running bearings made of slippery plastic instead. All are fabricated, lubricated, and inspected in the U.S.
With no moving parts, sleeve bearings are the simplest way to support the load of a rotating shaft while reducing friction. Also known as plain bearings.
High-Load 932 Bearing Bronze—These bearings are strong enough for sudden starts and stops, plus they resist wear and tear. They are cast from an alloy of leaded tin bronze for uniform rigidity and strength. Also known as 660 leaded bronze bearings.

841 Bearing Bronze—A classic choice for a starter pick. Also known as SAE 841 bearings.
Synthetic Oil Base—A high-quality lubricant makes all the difference. Synthetic oil is less sensitive to temperature changes than mineral oil, so it won't get runny and leak away at higher temperatures.

Combine naturally slippery PTFE with the strength of metal. These bearings don't need lubricant, so there's no oil to maintain, drip off, or attract dust. Backed with steel, they're as strong as other all-metal thrust bearings. However, they're best for dry environments since moisture will cause the steel to rust.

Used in pairs or with another bearing nut, these thin-profile nuts—often called shaft nuts—hold bearings, bushings, pulleys, and gears in place on your threaded shaft or spindle. Threading two nuts tightly against each other makes it harder for vibration to loosen your assembly than if you used only one nut. For the nut closer to the bearing, position the stepped face towards the bearing. These thin-profile nuts have holes on the side, so you can tighten and loosen them with a pin spanner wrench. All meet DIN 1816, an international standard for bearing locknut dimensions.

    Shims for Dies

Image of ProductInUse. Side1 orientation. Contains Annotated. Shims. Sold Individually, Round, For Dies.
Restore your die to its original height for clean cuts in metal stamping. Dies shorten over time from wear and sharpening, which prevents your die punch from going all the way through and often causes annoying partial punches that require stopping to clear. Place these shims under your die to adjust its height, extend its life, and prevent jams.
You can stack multiple shims to achieve your exact thickness, but stacking more than four may cause them to shift. Remember, fewer shims are better, so a couple of thicker shims are more stable than a bunch of thin shims.
18-8 Stainless Steel—The choice for wet and outdoor environments, these shims resist rust. However, they’ll corrode or pit when exposed to salt water and chemicals.

    Slotted Bushings

    with Spring Pin

When locating a workpiece using through-hole alignment pins (sold separately), use one of these bushings and one standard bushing to prevent the pins from binding in your fixture. One pin sits in the standard drill bushing for tight-tolerance locating in all directions, and the other pin sits in the slotted bushing for tight-tolerance locating in only one direction. This functionality is similar to the combination of round and diamond-head locating pins. Press these bushings into a drilled hole for permanent installation. They’re also known as slotted locator bushings.
