About Rod Ends

Swivel Joints
Also known as spherical bearings, swivel joints support angular misalignment. Press them into a hole or housing where a ball joint rod end won’t fit. They need to be lubricated when first installed and periodically after that. Apply any type of bearing grease to the ball, and rotate it to work it into the races.
Sealed joints keep grease in and contaminants out.

Extended-Life Swivel Joints
Specially designed lubrication channels and integral seals allow these joints to last up to three times longer than other swivel joints. Also known as spherical bearings, they support angular misalignment. Press into a hole or housing where a ball joint rod end won’t fit. All have seals to keep grease in and contaminants out. Joints come greased and can be lubricated through a hole in the housing without removing the load.

Thrust-Rated Swivel Joints
A unique design allows these joints to support heavy one-direction thrust loads as well as combined radial/thrust loads. Also known as spherical bearings, you can press them into tight spots where a rod end shank won’t fit or mount them in a drilled hole or a rod end blank.
Lubricate these joints with any type of bearing grease when you install them. Apply the grease to the exposed surface of the ball, then rotate the ball to work the grease into the races. You’ll need to reapply grease regularly.

Flush-Mount Screw-Clamp Bushings
Insert these bushings into the bore of your sprocket for flush or recessed mounting. They handle shock loads. When you tighten the included clamping screws, the bushing's inner sleeve contracts onto the shaft and the outer sleeve expands to hold your sprocket, pulley, or gear. They can be mounted on shafts with or without keyways.
