Impact Hex Bit Sockets

These sockets are made to withstand the high torque and force of impact tools.
Sockets that list a compatible retaining ring ID require a locking retainer. Use with an impact wrench that has a pin-style socket retainer, or use a socket retaining ring with tools that have a hole- or hole-and-ring style socket retainer.

Extended-Reach Impact Hex Bit Sockets

Extra-long bits help you access hard-to-reach fasteners. These sockets are sturdier and have more give than manual-drive sockets, so they'll withstand the high torque and force of impact tools. Sockets that are 3/8", 1/2", or 1” square drive require a locking retainer. Use with an impact wrench that has a pin-style socket retainer, or use a socket retaining ring with tools that have a hole- or hole-and-ring style socket retainer.

Replacement Bits for Hex Bit Sockets

Switch out worn or damaged bits instead of replacing your entire bit socket. No need for set screws or roll pins to keep these bits in place—they have nylon pellets at their base that compress within the socket for a snug fit. Tap them into hex bit sockets with a hammer. They flex slightly to withstand the high torque and force of impact tools. They can also be used with hand-drive tools.

Flex-Head Socket Wrenches
Pivot the socket end to access hard-to-reach fasteners.
Polished wrenches have a mirror-like finish.

Bolt-Through Socket Wrenches

Turn nuts on bolts and threaded rods, which can pass through the short end of the wrench. For additional leverage, slip a bar through the short end to create a T-handle. Wrenches with a 12-point opening are easier to position on hex fasteners than wrenches with a 6-point opening but make less contact.

Changeable-Head Torque Wrenches
Change heads to use these tools as an open-end, box, square drive, or hex-key wrench. When the set torque is reached, these wrenches indicate with an audible click and a momentary release. To reverse torque-limiting direction, remove head, turn handle over, and reattach head. The handle and head combination you choose may have different maximum torque values. Do not exceed the lower value.
