    12-Point

    Opening

Your go-to wrenches for routine maintenance. With two different ends, you need fewer tools to tighten and loosen nuts and bolts. The open end slides onto the side of fasteners for adjustments in tight spots. When nuts and bolts won't budge, the box end fully encircles them to apply maximum torque. Drop forged for added strength, these wrenches will be part of your toolbox for life.
12-Point Opening—The most common opening, these wrenches work on hex and 12-point nuts and bolts. They slide onto hex heads at more angles than 6-point fasteners for quicker engagement, but they're more likely to slip when you apply more torque.
Chrome-Plated Steel—The most popular finish, these wrenches won't rust or chip. Although they withstand moisture better than black oxide, they don't hold up to harsh chemicals as well as stainless steel.
Black-Oxide Steel—The dark, matte coating protects these wrenches from wear and won't flake off. They offer minimal corrosion resistance, though, so they're best for dry environments.
Dull—With a textured finish, these wrenches won't slip out of your hands, even when greasy or oily.
Polished—The smooth surface is easy to wipe clean of grime. The mirror-like finish lends a high-end look to any toolkit.

Turn nuts and bolts without having to remove and reposition these wrenches. They're commonly used where you don't have enough space for full turns. To switch between loosening and tightening, flip them over.

When you’re working with high torque, these wrenches keep the nut from turning as you tighten a bolt. You'll need a head and a handle to form a complete wrench. The head goes around the nut you want to hold stationary and the handle braces against an adjacent nut, absorbing the torque. They're often used when sealing large pipe flanges with a hydraulic torque wrench. Safer than striking wrenches, they stay securely on the nut until you release them.
