The easiest marine-grade aluminum to weld, 5052 is made into everything from boat hulls to aircraft fuel lines. You don't need to preheat the metal or perform a test weld to create joints. Even when submerged for long periods of time, it won't weaken in salt water. It even stays strong at cryogenic temperatures, so it's commonly made into piping for liquid nitrogen.
