Clevis Pins with Retaining Ring Groove

Insert the retaining ring into the groove for a secure hold that takes up less space than a cotter pin. The ring surrounds the entire pin, so bumps are unlikely to work these pins out of a hole.
Unlike most cotter pins, which install by hand, you will need retaining ring pliers to insert and remove the included ring.

Zinc-Plated Carbon Steel—These pins withstand occasional exposure to moisture. However, since friction from moving parts can wear away the finish, they're not ideal for wet environments. While not nearly as corrosion resistant as stainless steel, they are stronger and won’t deform under stress.

    Flat-Head Quick-Release Pins

With no ring or handle to get caught on nearby components, these pins won’t pull out accidently. The low profile makes them similar to basic clevis pins. Although the thin head fits in cramped spots, it also makes the pin harder to grab. A retaining ball holds pins in place once installed—pull to remove.

Headless Clevis Pins with Retaining Ring Grooves

Secured with a retaining ring at either end, you can add and remove parts without having to take the pin all the way out. These pins are commonly used with rod ends, hydraulic cylinders, and other pivoting components. In addition to taking up less space than cotter pins, the retaining rings surround the entire pin, so bumps are unlikely to work it loose.
Unlike most cotter pins, which install by hand, you will need retaining ring pliers to insert and remove the included rings.
