Lapping Sticks
Use with lapping paste to lap by hand or with reciprocating polishers. Choose the shape that matches the contour of your work surface.
Balsa wood lapping sticks are good for delicate, final finishing. Our softest option, they’re gentle on the surface of your workpiece. However, they wear down more quickly than basswood and beech wood sticks.
Basswood lapping sticks are good for intermediate to final finishing. A great general purpose option, they’re more durable than balsa wood but smoother than beech wood lapping sticks.
Beech wood lapping sticks are best for intensive lapping. You can apply more pressure with them than basswood and balsa wood as they hold their shape better. Their hardness, however, will wear your workpiece surface down more quickly and you’ll have less control than with other lapping sticks.
