They have a silica gel desiccant that changes from blue to pink, making it easy to know when to replace the cartridge. Disassembly is required to access the desiccant.

Style E filter fine particles in the same cartridge as the dryer and oil filter. Install them vertically in your compressed air line so any water vapor collecting drains properly.
