Compression Testers
Check engine compression to maintain top performance.
Testers with a quick-release coupler make it easy to connect and disconnect the gauge and the hose.
Testers that include both injector adapters and glow plug adapters are compatible with most diesel engines.
Add an optional adapter if you tester does not come with an adapter that matches your engine's spark plug thread size.

Fuel Injection Pressure Testers
Check fuel injection pressure to maintain your car's gas mileage. Attach these testers to your fuel line and idle the engine to test—stable pressure readings indicate that all is well. Fluctuations in pressure can result from a number of issues, including a failing fuel pump, clogged fuel filter, faulty fuel pressure regulator, or leaking fuel injectors.

Cylinder Leak Testers
Test how well your engine cylinder holds compressed air. Often used after getting a low reading from a compression tester, these leak testers show the percentage of the air leaking out of your cylinder. Remove all spark plugs from your engine and rotate it so the cylinder being tested is at the top. Make sure the cylinder is top dead center on its stroke, with both valves closed. Connect one end of these testers to the spark plug hole, and the other to a compressed air source. Fill the cylinder to its specified air pressure, and the gauge on these testers will show how much air is leaking out.
Add a whistle to help pinpoint the location of a leak. If the sound of the whistle changes while the cylinder moves through its stroke, you’ve found the leak. Connect to the end of the hose or adapter on a leak tester.
