These coatings protect circuit boards and other electronics from moisture, dust, and static. They’re thinner than potting compounds, so they flow into the smallest contours of your components to cover them completely. Apply these coatings without needing a potting box or other container. You can remove them if necessary.
Acrylic Plastic—Acrylic plastic coatings are our thinnest option, so they’re the easiest to apply. They’ll also come off the easiest when you have to rework or repair your component—just use a solvent. These coatings dry in a day or less.
Silicone Rubber—Silicone rubber coatings protect components over a wide range of temperatures. They’re also the most flexible of our conformal coatings, so they won’t crack from vibration. However, they’re thicker than acrylic coatings, so they’re more difficult to apply and remove.
Urethane Rubber—Urethane rubber coatings are the best choice for harsh environments. They have the best chemical resistance in our offering, and they’re extra hard for the best resistance to scrapes. Plus, they won’t crack in low temperatures. However, they aren’t as flexible as silicone coatings, so they’re worse at handling vibration. They’re also harder to apply than acrylic coatings because they’re thicker.
Sprayon—Sprayon acrylic plastic coatings dry in just 30 minutes, the quickest of our conformal coatings. They resist grease, oil, and alkalies. Ideal for metal parts, they prevent rusting. Along with circuit boards, they’re often used on batteries.
Bottle—Coatings in a bottle come with a brush for touch-ups.
Ultraviolet—Coatings with ultraviolet visibility show up under a black light, so you can easily check if you’ve applied them evenly.
IPC-CC-830—Coatings that meet IPC-CC-830 are certified for use on circuit boards.
UL 94 V-0—Coatings that meet UL 94 V-0 have passed a test for flame retardance.
Cannot Be Sold To—Coatings that cannot be sold to the listed areas are restricted due to VOCs (volatile organic compounds) regulations.

    Parylene Conformal Coatings

Image of Product. Front orientation. Conformal Coatings. Parylene Conformal Coatings.
Protect sensitive electronics at the molecular level—these ultra-thin, ultra-conformal coatings cover every inch of your components for applications where failure isn’t an option. They’ve even been trusted on satellites and medical devices. Use them to insulate current, prevent arcs and short circuits, and shield against moisture, chemicals, and gases. They’re better insulators than epoxy, urethane, and silicone coatings. Deposited as vapor in a vacuum chamber, they’re 90% lighter than spray and dip coatings. That means they’ll keep your items lightweight and won’t damage complex geometries. These coatings meet ASTM E595, a standard used by NASA, so they produce almost no volatile emissions that could damage sensitive electronics, even in a vacuum.
Note: These coatings must be applied using special parylene deposition equipment.
Parylene C—Parylene C coatings are the most widely used. They contain chlorine, so they shield against moisture, chemicals, and corrosive gases better than Parylene N coatings. Plus, they’re stronger and quicker to apply.
Parylene N—Parylene N coatings are better electrical insulators than Parylene C coatings. They also penetrate deeper into crevices on your components for more complete coverage. However, they’re slower to apply.

    High-Temperature Conformal Coatings

Image of Product. Front orientation. Conformal Coatings. High-Temperature Conformal Coatings.
Even in furnace-like heat, these coatings protect your electronics from moisture, dust, and static. They withstand temperatures up to 270° higher than standard silicone rubber coatings while remaining flexible enough to not crack and peel from vibration. Whether your circuit board is in a hot, humid shop or inside heavy machinery that heats up and vibrates, these coatings keep it protected. Made of silicone, they won’t cloud from humidity.
They’re thinner than potting compounds, so they flow into the smallest contours of your components to cover them completely. Simply spray these coatings on your device without needing a potting box or other container. They contain a UV indicator, so you can use a blacklight to check if they’ve been applied evenly. You can remove these coatings if necessary.
These coatings are IPC certified for use with circuit boards. For flame retardance, they meet UL 94 V-0.
Cannot Be Sold To—They cannot be sold in California or outside North America due to regulatory limits on VOCs.

    Optically Clear Conformal Coatings

Image of Product. Front orientation. Conformal Coatings. Optically Clear Conformal Coatings.
Protect LEDs, solar cells, and fiber optics with a coating that’s clear enough to see through. These coatings let optimal light pass through and repel dust and moisture, so they won’t distort your view of what’s underneath. Made of silicone rubber, they won’t cloud in hot, humid environments. That means they’re great for use outdoors, such as on signs and instrumentation panels. These coatings are thinner than potting compounds, flowing into the smallest contours on your device to cover it completely. Silicone rubber conformal coatings are the most flexible kind of conformal coating, so they won’t crack or peel from vibration. To protect sensitive equipment, these coatings also prevent static discharge.
Simply spray these coatings on your device without needing a potting box or other container. Since they cure at room temperature, you won’t need UV lights or cure ovens either. You can remove them if necessary.
These coatings are IPC certified for use with circuit boards. They also meet UL 94 V-0 for flame retardance.

No mixing required—these potting compounds come ready to apply. Use them to encase electronic assemblies for protection from dust, moisture, mechanical shock, and vibration. Softer and more flexible than epoxies and urethanes with the widest temperature range, silicone rubber potting compounds are the best choice for high-temperature applications and electronics exposed to thermal cycling. They have good moisture resistance but poor chemical and abrasion resistance. Silicones provide excellent electrical insulation. They're also known as RTV (room-temperature vulcanizing) compounds because they don’t need heat or UV light to cure.
UL 94 V-0—Potting compounds that meet UL 94 V-0 have passed a test for flame retardance.
Cannot Be Sold to California—Potting compounds that cannot be sold to California exceed local regulatory limits on VOCs (volatile organic compounds).

Hide proprietary information on electrical components while also protecting them from moisture, dust, and static. All it takes is a single thin layer of these black coatings. They’re often used to protect custom parts while prototyping. Place them under a UV curing lamp to fully harden them in just 5 seconds. Made of urethane rubber, they resist chemicals and scratches and won’t crack in low temperatures. That means they’re great for harsh environments. These coatings meet UL 94 V-0 for flame retardance.

Protect circuit boards and other electronics from fire and heat. These self-extinguishing compounds meet UL 94V-0 for flame retardance and withstand temperatures up to nearly 400° F. Use them to shield components from dust, moisture, chemicals, mechanical shock, and vibration. Since they’re epoxies, they won’t break down from chemicals or moisture. They’re also excellent electrical insulators. These compounds have the consistency of honey once they’re mixed, so they seep into crevices to encase intricate components.
Cartridge—Cartridge compounds dispense through a mixer nozzle for precise application. Use them with a dispensing gun.
Can—Can compounds are easier to apply in high volumes than cartridge compounds. Mix them together and pour them over components inside containers, such as a potting box. If you see air bubbles after mixing, put the mixture in a vacuum chamber to remove them.

    Light-Activated Silicone Rubber Potting Compounds

Image of Product. Front orientation. Potting Compounds. Light-Activated Silicone Rubber Potting Compounds.
These compounds dry quickly when exposed to UV light allowing you to handle the potted items sooner. Made of silicone rubber, they’re softer and more flexible than epoxy or urethane compounds, so they’re better at protecting against shocks and vibration. They also withstand a wider range of temperatures, so they’re often used with electronics that heat and cool rapidly. These compounds are excellent electrical insulators, and they’ll shield your components from moisture and dust. However, they don’t hold up well to abrasion or chemicals. The tapered nozzle lets you apply them precisely.

    Two-Part Silicone Rubber Potting Compounds

Encase electronic assemblies in a layer of silicone rubber for protection from dust, moisture, mechanical shock, and vibration. They’re also known as RTV (room-temperature vulcanizing).

From shore to sea floor, these potting compounds are formulated for permanent submersion in water—even salt water. Use them to protect circuits and splices in pumps, underwater lighting, and other underwater electronics from corrosion and chemicals. Made of urethane, they withstand a wide range of temperatures, especially cold underwater conditions. They provide good electrical insulation and have excellent flexibility. Since they’re more flexible than epoxy compounds, they’re often used to protect against vibration and impact.
Mix the two parts of these compounds together and pour them over components inside a potting box or other container. If mixing causes air bubbles, put the mixture in a vacuum chamber to remove them.

    Low-Outgassing Heat-Transfer Epoxy Potting Compounds

Image of Product. Front orientation. Potting Compounds. Low-Outgassing Heat-Transfer Epoxy Potting Compounds.
Tested to meet ASTM E595, a standard used by NASA, these potting compounds release almost no volatile emissions that could damage sensitive electronics, even in a vacuum. Use them to draw heat away from your components—they conduct heat better than standard potting compounds. Made of epoxy, they’re the strongest of the potting compounds, so they’re rigid and wear resistant. They’ll also resist breaking down from chemicals and moisture. These compounds are excellent at insulating current, and they’ll shield against dust, vibration, and shock.
To apply, mix the two parts together and pour them over components inside a container, such as a potting box.

    Cartridge Potting Compounds

Make repairs or changes to electrical components after they’ve been potted. While most compounds are permanent, these form a gel that bonds to itself, so you can peel it off without damaging your equipment. Often used in junction boxes, they form a water- and dust-proof seal that’s rated IP68 while also providing excellent electrical insulation. Made of silicone rubber, they withstand a wide range of temperatures and are soft and flexible enough to resist shock and vibration. However, they’re not as strong as permanent potting compounds, so they don’t resist scrapes as well as those made of epoxy and urethane. They’re also not as chemical resistant as epoxy and urethane compounds.
These compounds won’t solidify once you open the container, so you have time to make adjustments when applying them. When removing them from your components, they mostly come off in one piece but there might be some residue left over.
Bottle Potting Compounds—Bottle compounds are a better choice for filling up new enclosures than cartridge compounds because you can pour more in at a time. They have a compartment for each component and require mixing.
Cartridge Potting Compounds—Cartridge compounds have a nozzle for precise application. The nozzle can also fit into junction box knockouts, so it’s easier to fill up installed enclosures than it is with bottle compounds. They come ready to use with no mixing required and no waiting time.

    Solder Mask

Image of Product. Front orientation. Solder Mask.
Shield circuit boards from flux, solder, conformal coatings, and high temperatures. Heat resistant up to 640° F, solder mask is most often used to protect open through-holes and components during wave soldering. Solder mask can also act as a short-term adhesive to keep parts in place when you’re soldering a two-sided SMT circuit board. An alternative to masking tapes that require cutting to shape, solder mask flows easily into small spaces and doesn’t leave a residue when removed.
Wash-Away Removal—Choose wash-away solder mask if you use a water-based cleaning process such as a batch or in-line cleaning system.
Peel-Away Removal—Choose peel-away solder mask if you use a solvent-based cleaning process or don’t clean your circuit boards.
1 hr. Overall Dry Time—Peel-away solder mask with a one-hr. overall dry time produces low odors because it doesn’t contain ammonia. Wash-away solder mask with a one-hr. overall dry time is nonflammable. It's not completely water soluble, so it can’t be used in closed-loop cleaning systems.
2 hr. Overall Dry Time—Solder mask with a two-hr. overall dry time is completely water soluble for use in closed-loop cleaning systems. It's slightly flammable.

Mixing required—resin and hardener come in two separate jars or in a jar and syringe and must be combined before applying. Change the mix ratio of these heat-transfer potting compounds to achieve the right hardness for your application. They're formulated to draw heat away from sensitive electronic components, so they have higher thermal conductivity than standard potting compounds. Use them to encase electronic assemblies for protection from dust, chemicals, moisture, mechanical shock, and vibration. Rigid and wear resistant, epoxies are the strongest of the potting compounds. They have excellent chemical and moisture resistance, withstand a wide range of temperatures, and provide excellent electrical insulation.

Epoxy Potting Compounds for Harsh Environments

Image of Product. Front orientation. Potting Compounds. Epoxy Potting Compounds for Harsh Environments.
Tough enough to be permanently submersed in seawater, these compounds protect sensitive electronics, such as circuit boards, semiconductors, and sensors in harsh environments. They resist moisture, salt, and chemicals, so you can use them in corrosive oil, marine, and mining applications. These compounds can also be used within autoclaves. Because they are epoxies, they are rigid, resist wear, and create excellent electrical insulation. They withstand a wide range of temperatures, and this formulation won’t crack or split as components heat up and cool down.
They come in a cartridge, so you can apply them precisely. To dispense, they require a mixer nozzle and gun (both sold separately).

    Flexible Epoxy Potting Compounds

Image of Product. Front orientation. Potting Compounds. Flexible Epoxy Potting Compounds.
Combine the flexibility of silicone with the durability of standard epoxy—these compounds are great for protecting sensitive electronics that need to flex or expand and contract. Because they’re an epoxy, they still have excellent moisture, chemical, and abrasion resistance. They withstand a wide range of temperatures, and this formulation won’t crack or split as components heat up and cool down. These compounds are excellent electrical insulators, and they’ll shield your components from moisture and dust. You can also use them as an adhesive since they’re also tacky.
They come in a cartridge, so you can apply them precisely. To dispense, they require a mixer nozzle and gun (both sold separately).

    Light-Activated Epoxy Potting Compounds

Image of Product. Front orientation. Potting Compounds. Light-Activated Epoxy Potting Compounds.
Handle potted items within minutes—these potting compounds dry quickly when exposed to UV light. For added strength and durability, cure them with heat. Since they’re epoxy, they won’t break down from chemicals or moisture. They’re also excellent electrical insulators and withstand a wide range of temperatures. Use them to shield components from dust, moisture, chemicals, mechanical shock, and vibration. You need a mixer nozzle (not included) and a gun and plunger (both sold separately) to dispense. The nozzle lets you apply these compounds precisely.
For maximum effectiveness, these compounds need to be heat cured after they’re cured with UV light. Overall dry time includes heat curing at 149° F.

Protect circuit boards and other electronics where high heat is a concern but you don’t need to transfer that heat elsewhere. These compounds are a good middle ground between standard epoxy compounds and heat-transfer compounds. They work at temperatures twice as high as standard epoxy compounds. However, they don't conduct heat as well as heat-transfer compounds so they're not the best choice for circuit boards that run for long periods of time. Harden these compounds at room temperature—they don’t require an oven to harden like heat-transfer compounds do.
Since they’re an epoxy compound, they won’t break down from chemicals or moisture. They’re also excellent electrical insulators and withstand a wide range of temperatures. Use them to shield components from dust, moisture, chemicals, mechanical shock, and vibration.
Jar and Syringe—Jar and syringe compounds are the consistency of honey once they’re mixed, so they’ll seep into the crevices of a circuit board and encapsulate intricate components. Use the syringe for precise application.
Bottle—Bottle compounds are easier to apply in higher volumes than jar and syringe compounds. Mix them together and pour them over components inside containers, such as a potting box. If air bubbles occur after mixing, you can put the mixture in a vacuum chamber to remove them.
Cannot Be Sold to Canada—Some compounds cannot be sold to Canada due to product labeling requirements.
