    Tooling Balls

Image of Product. Front orientation. Contains Annotated. Tooling Balls.
The shoulder on these tooling balls provides a consistent height reference point. Use the ball as a point from which any other point can be precisely measured, such as when determining hole centerlines and distances between hole centerlines.
    Press Fit
    Press-fit tooling balls install permanently.
Two Piece—Two-piece tooling balls are welded to the shank. If excessive horizontal pressure is applied to the ball it will break off to prevent bending the shank or distorting the tight tolerances of the ball.
Carbide—Harder than steel tooling balls with better resistance to wear and temperature fluctuations. They keep their size and shape, even under heavy fixturing pressures and high heat.

    Snap In

Protect tooling balls when not in use.
Snap In—Install and remove without tools. These covers have serrated prongs that slide into holes and grip the threads. They're faster to install than covers with unthreaded holes but aren't as economical.
HDPE and Nylon—In areas exposed to moisture and chemicals, these hold up better than zinc alloy covers.

    Tooling Ball Mounts

Image of Product. Front orientation. Contains Annotated. Tooling Ball Mounts.
Use a mount when your tooling ball needs a raised mounting point. Mounts are ground to a tight height tolerance to ensure accurate positioning. The shank of the tooling ball sits in the mount's center hole. Mounts have a drilled hole on the side for securing the tooling ball in place with a set screw (not included).
