Plug × plug cords allow you to connect two devices that have female socket connections.

The M12 threaded ends on these cords seal out contaminants and resist coming loose from vibration better than the RJ45 ends on traditional Ethernet cords. Use them in tough, rugged environments to send high-speed data between sensors, switches, servers, computers, and PLCs not protected by control panels. These cords can power devices as they send data, as long as devices are Power over Ethernet (PoE) compatible. They are often used within Ethernet/IP, Profinet, and EtherCat systems. Housing Connection—Pair connectors that have the same type of housing connection. Push-in connectors are quick to connect and disconnect. Screw-together connectors take longer to connect, but are more secure. They’re good for preventing power loss if vibration might loosen the connection or the connector could get yanked out.

Wire Connection—Choose based on your application. Wire leads come ready to connect and don’t require any preparation. Screw-clamp terminals are easy to use; just insert the wire into the terminal and tighten the screw to clamp it in place.

Receptacles—Mount them in a panel. Receptacles with an off (Normally Open) circuit position turn equipment on when you plug in a device.
