When not in use, fold the handle into the recess to keep it out of the way. It lays flat so you won’t bump into these locks or catch clothes on them. The locks project further into enclosures than other locks without a recess. To open them, pull the handle with your fingers. Turn the head a quarter turn to lock, then push the handle down into the recess to create compression and minimize rattling from vibration.

Also known as compression cam locks, these locks create a tighter hold than traditional cam locks, making them useful for doors that have a seal. Adjust the position of the cam before you begin to install them. The lock installation hole can be made with a round hole instead of the irregularly shaped standard cam hole. This is especially helpful if the material of the door is difficult to cut or part of an existing structure.
