Build-Your-Own Suspended Welding Curtain Partitions

Combine straight and curved sections to build a hanging one- to four-sided curtain partition. They have grommets along the top and a weighted bottom hem. Join sections using the hook-and-loop closures along the vertical edge. Install track by suspending it from overhead supports using chain or _3/8" threaded rod (not included).

To design a partition, determine height, overall length, and number of straight and curved sections needed.

Note: Curved sections add 2 ft. to the overall length and width.

Oil- and Heat-Resistant Silicone-Coated Fiberglass Fabric

Silicone-coated for oil resistance, this fiberglass fabric withstands continuous temperatures up to 500° F. It works well as a heat shield near engines, exhaust systems, and industrial equipment. Hung vertically, it also protects against molten metal spatter as a welding curtain. The silicone coating outlasts uncoated fiberglass in oily environments where standard fabrics would degrade.

Light Curtains for Long Distances

Spanning up to 230 ft.—roughly the length of a commercial airplane—these light curtains cut power to large machinery to prevent damage or injury. They trigger the instant a person or object crosses the light beams between the transmitter and receiver. To selectively allow material to pass through the sensing field, you can program the system to allow one or more beams to be broken without shutting off your machine. To create a perimeter guard that bends around corners, add mirrors to reflect light beams at an angle. Rated IP67, these curtains withstand wet conditions.

For a complete switching system, combine a transmitter and receiver, safety relay, and connectors (all sold separately).

Note: These curtains cannot be used with a full-revolution clutch press or machine. Use only with machinery that can consistently and immediately stop anywhere in its cycle.

All curtains require four fixed or four swivel brackets. Swivel brackets can be adjusted during and after installation for easy alignment.

Safety Relays

Safety relays send a signal to shut off your machinery when the light beams are breached and restart when the issue is resolved. IP20 rated, they have recessed terminals that prevent fingers and other objects from touching live circuits. Mount them to 35 mm DIN rail (also known as DIN 3 Rail) for fast installation.
