Files, also known as American-pattern and machinists' files, are used to remove material quickly.
Precision files, also known as Swiss-pattern files, are made to exacting measurements to ensure smoothness and are useful for finishing delicate and intricate parts.

Electrical Contact Files
Clean contacts on electrical components such as spark plugs, switches, relays, and ignition points.
Files with tungsten-coated teeth are best for hard materials commonly found on ignition points and high-amperage electrical contacts, such as tungsten and iridium. They are double cut—two sets of diagonal teeth remove material rapidly.
Files with diamond abrasive grit clean contacts with a minimal amount of pressure. The sharpest and hardest abrasive we offer, diamond smooths any material. It’s especially good for delicate tasks where you need to remove very little material at a time.

Thin-Face Electrical Contact Files
The spatula-like end lets you access contacts in tight spaces. Use on electrical components such as spark plugs, switches, relays, and ignition points. The diamond abrasive cleans the contacts with a minimal amount of pressure while removing very little metal.
