Handle Backset Distance
Tested to resist the spread of fire over time, these doors meet NFPA and UL standards. They will slow the spread of flames for at least 45 min., depending on the size of their window. All have a 2 3/4" handle backset distance, which is the distance from the edge of the door to the center of the door’s handle cutout. Use door installation sets (not included) to attach doors to door frames.
To determine if you need a left-hand or right-hand frame, stand on the side of the door where it swings away from you. If it opens to the left, it’s a left-hand door; if it opens to the right, it’s a right-hand door.

Handle Backset Distance
Keep conversations private. Thanks to their core made from sound-absorbing materials, these doors are more than twice as soundproof as typical hollow metal doors. While they block most everyday noises, louder sounds might still be faintly audible. For example, noise from heavy machinery or shouting won’t be blocked completely by these doors but will be significantly reduced. Use a door installation set (not included) to attach the door to the frame.
To determine door swing direction, stand on the side of the door where it swings away from you. If it opens to the right, it's a right swing door; if it opens to the left, it's a left swing door.
Sound Transmission Class (STC) is rated on a scale from 25 to 65 to determine how well a door, wall, or other building partition reduces noise. A rating of 49 means that you would not be able to hear people speaking on the other side of the door.

Handle Backset Distance
These double doors are UL fire-rated to help prevent the spread of fire. Handle backset distance is the distance from the edge of the door to the center of the door's handle cutout. Door frames are sold separately.
Removable center supports (sold separately) allow surface-mount exit devices to be used on double doors. They accept the strike plates included with standard and impact-resistant devices.

Traffic-Control Double Doors

Reduce bottlenecks and prevent accidents in congested doorways. Also known as double-egress doors, these doors open in opposite directions—one side for entering, the other for exiting—to keep traffic flowing. They’re often used in hospitals, schools, and other busy places. For quick entry and exit, add touch bars with vertical rods (not included).
Door frames, also known as flush frames, are for use in brick and block walls. Hinges are not included.
