Pull-Out Dowel Pins

One end of these pins is tapped, and the other is chamfered for easy insertion. To remove, thread a screw or tool into the tapped hole, then pull the pin out. Because they aren't vented, they work best in through holes. Use them as pivots, hinges, shafts, jigs, and fixtures to locate or hold parts. Pins are precision ground for accurate alignment. Breaking strength is measured as double shear, which is the force required to break a pin into three pieces.
Pins that meet ASME B18.8.2 specifications conform to ASME standards for material and dimensions.
Steel pins have good strength. 18-8 stainless steel pins offer a balance of strength and corrosion resistance. They may be mildly magnetic.

Use with internally threaded dowel pins. A complete tool requires a puller handle and a tip that fits your pin. You’ll also need a socket head cap screw that can thread into the pin. To use, thread a tip into the puller handle and fit the other end of the tip over the screw. Slide the weight along the handle to push or pull.
Flat-Vent Pull-Out Dowel Pins

The flat side of these pins relieves trapped air, making them easier to insert and remove from blind holes. One end is tapped and the other is chamfered for easy insertion. Spiral-Vent Pull-Out Dowel Pins

A spiral groove cut into these pins relieves trapped air but stays in 360° contact with the hole for a secure fit that's easy to insert in and remove from blind holes. One end is tapped and the other is chamfered for easy insertion. To remove, thread a screw or tool into the tapped hole, then pull them out. Use them as pivots, hinges, shafts, jigs, and fixtures to locate or hold parts. Pins are precision ground for accurate alignment. Tapped Taper Pins

These internally threaded pins sit flush in an assembly. For easy removal from a blind hole, thread a screw into the pin and pull out. Often used for positioning components and securing assemblies, they taper at a uniform rate to fit in tapered holes. Use a tapered drill bit that matches the pin number for a snug fit. They have slightly rounded edges to aid insertion.
Pins meet ASME B18.8.2 specifications for material and dimensions.

Headless Alloy Steel Precision Shoulder Screws

Without a head to get in the way, these screws fit in tight spaces where standard shoulder screws cannot. Either thread them in a countersunk hole for a flush mount, or install them with the shoulder sticking out to use them as pins or dowels for aligning and locating components. With a shoulder diameter that is more precise than our general purpose shoulder screws, these screws are a good choice for measuring devices, optical fixtures, laboratory equipment, and other applications where precision matters. Made of alloy steel, they are strong and resist wear.
