Create very small holes, including pilot holes to run EDM (electrical discharge machining) wire through. For use in hole-popping EDM machines.
Also known as spark machining, EDM uses electrical current to erode a metal workpiece to a desired shape.
Brass—Brass electrodes can be used at a faster machining rate but wear out quicker than copper electrodes.
Copper—Copper electrodes last longer and are better for use on extremely hard materials, such as carbide, sintered diamond, and invar and kovar nickel alloys.
1 Channel—Electrodes with one channel are best for creating through holes.
2 Channels—Electrodes with two channels are best for creating closed-end holes. The internal channels disintegrate material left at the bottom of a closed-end hole.

    Electrical Discharge Machining Wire

Image of Product. Front orientation. Electrical Discharge Machining Wire.
    Use in wire-cutting EDM machines.
Also known as spark machining, electrical discharge machining (EDM) uses electrical current to erode a metal workpiece to a desired shape.
Galvanized—Galvanized wire cuts faster than uncoated wire.
Hard—Hard wire works better than soft wire in EDM machines with automatic wire threading.
Soft—Soft wire stays straight as it comes off the spool, making it better than hard wire for EDM machines that do not have automatic wire threading.
