Drop-Down Cable
Often used to wire pendant switches, this cable hangs from an overhead connection. It’s also known as bus drop cable.
The PVC insulation resists abrasion, chemicals, and oil.
Cable with strain relief has galvanized steel strain cables on the sides to provide strength and reduce the stress caused by equipment hanging from cable. Use the strain relief hardware (sold separately) to secure equipment to the cable.

Continuous-Flex Cable

Often used in automated applications such as robotics and cable carriers, this cable withstands continuous motion without degrading data or signal transmission. It’s flame rated VW-1 to meet requirements for preventing the spread of flames based on a timed test with vertically suspended material. Rated for use in ISO Class 1 or ISO Class 2 clean rooms, this cable releases minimal particles into the air, helping you to maintain the cleanest possible environment.
Use unshielded cable in applications where signal interference is not a concern.
Choose cable with PVC plastic outer insulation for general purpose indoor applications. Their protective layer resists abrasion, though it has the highest bend radius compared to other materials.
Bend radius is the point to which the cable will bend without being damaged. It is measured from the center of the bend to the edge of the cable. The smaller the radius, the more the cable can bend.

Flat Control Cable

- Use For: Automation
- Flexible
- Temperature Range: -40° to 220° F
- Insulation: PVC Plastic
Also known as festoon cable, this flat cable fits in confined spaces and withstands period flexing and bending, such as in overhead cranes and hoists. Use it to operate, measure, or regulate automated equipment. The PVC insulation resists oil and UV light. It’s flame rated VW-1 to meet requirements for preventing the spread of flames based on a timed test with vertically suspended material.

Fiber-Optic Cable

- Use For: Data
- Flexible
- Temperature Range: -40° to 155° F
- Insulation: Thermoplastic
Send data between data centers and workstations in fiber-optic networks. The thermoplastic outer insulation on this cable is flame retardant for safe indoor use, and resists water and UV light for outdoor use. Because it works both indoors and outdoors, there’s no need for a transition splice when routing the cable into buildings. Each inner fiber also has a layer of thermoplastic insulation to protect signals and add flexibility. This cable is non-conductive, so grounding or bonding is not required.
Single-mode cable is often used to send data between buildings. It has a small core diameter, which reduces signal loss. It transmits data over longer distances and has a higher bandwidth than multimode cable.
Multimode cable is often used to transmit data over short distances, such as within buildings and local area networks (LANs). It has a large core diameter, so it’s easier to terminate and install than single-mode cable. However, it has lower bandwidth.
OFNR cable is for use in vertical shafts and large facilities with multiple levels.
ONFP cable is for use in horizontal shafts, such as in ducts and above drop ceilings.
Fiber count refers to the number of optical fibers inside a cable. The higher the count, the more data you can send. You can branch each fiber into its own individual cable if your network demands grow in the future.

D-Sub Connectors

Assemble DB and HD connectors to replace worn out connectors.
Shielded connectors prevent electromagnetic interference.
Connectors with wire leads come with cable already attached. Each wire lead is a separate color for easy identification and they are labeled with the pin that they are connected to. Those with DB9, DB15, and DB25 connections are RS-232, so they transmit data between computers and equipment. The thumb screws on these connectors have slots so they can be tightened with a screwdriver in tight spaces.
