Descent Rescue—Use descent rescue kits to lower the suspended person to the ground. They include a pole that telescopes for extra reach with a carabiner holder and hook on the end. Use the pole to do a variety of things—install anchors, attach carabiners to a suspended person’s D-ring, or guide someone around obstacles as they descend. You can even use these kits to evacuate yourself from an elevated platform in emergencies such as a fallen ladder or a fire.
