About Sound Levels

Measured in decibels (dB), volume ratings indicate how much noise equipment makes. Some common volume levels include a whisper @ 20 dB, a refrigerator @ 40 dB, a conversation @ 60 dB, and a light machine shop @ 90 dB. OSHA recommends hearing protection for exposure to 80 dB and greater.

Equipment-Cooling Fan Kits

Kits include a fan, guard, and power cord. They keep heat-sensitive equipment such as electronic components cool.

Wet-Location Equipment-Cooling Fan Kits

Cool heat-sensitive electronics without having to hardwire your fan—these kits include the fan, guard, and power cord. They’re IP-rated to withstand dust, light rinses, and other wet environments. The guard prevents accidental contact with fan blades, which helps avoid injury. All have ball bearings to reduce the heat that’s generated from the fans for a longer service life.

Cool electronics and other sensitive equipment in potentially unsafe areas. These fans are non-sparking, so they’re safe for use around gas and explosive dust. They also withstand washdowns, occasional submersion in water, and wet weather. They’re not for use in mines. Ball bearings reduce the heat that’s generated to prolong fan lifespan.

To keep unenclosed electronic components cool, place a tray on top of equipment to direct a stream of air below. A thermostat turns the unit on when the temperature reaches 90° F and off when it falls to 86° F.

Three Fan Expansion Module

Expandable fan trays come with three fans but can hold up to nine for greater airflow. Slide them in to cool your standard 19" wide enclosure. They are sized and notched in accordance with Electronic Industry Association (EIA) standards. Components are UL listed.
