About Sound Levels
Measured in decibels (dB), volume ratings indicate how much noise equipment makes. Some common volume levels include a whisper @ 20 dB, a refrigerator @ 40 dB, a conversation @ 60 dB, and a light machine shop @ 90 dB. OSHA recommends hearing protection for exposure to 80 dB and greater.
DC Equipment-Cooling Fans
Running on 48V DC power or lower, these compact fans fit inside electronics and other small, heat-sensitive equipment to keep things cool. They're also known as muffin fans. Some meet American and Canadian safety standards.
Fans with ball bearings generate less heat as they run, so they have a longer life than fans with sleeve bearings.

Equipment-Cooling Fans
Also known as muffin fans, these keep heat-sensitive equipment such as electronic components cool. All have UL recognized components and are CSA certified. Fans with quick-disconnect (QD) terminals are compatible with quick-disconnect (QD) power cords.
Ball bearings reduce heat generated during operation, which extends the life of the fan.

Edge-Flow Equipment-Cooling Blowers
For use in tight spaces where other equipment-cooling blowers won't fit, air enters through the center of these blowers and then expels along the edges. They create a more concentrated stream of air than equipment-cooling fans to blow away the heat generated by electronic equipment, induction heaters, and high-wattage bulbs. Use them to keep heat-sensitive equipment such as electronic components cool.
Square blowers have UL recognized components and are CSA certified.
