Metric 18-8 Stainless Steel Button Head Hex Drive Screws

Made from 18-8 stainless steel, these button head screws have good chemical resistance and may be mildly magnetic. Length is measured from under the head.
Passivated stainless steel screws provide added protection against oxidation and corrosion.

Metric 18-8 Stainless Steel Button Head Torx Screws

18-8 stainless steel screws have good chemical resistance and may be mildly magnetic. All are passivated for added protection against oxidation and corrosion. A Torx drive has more points of contact than other drives, allowing you to tighten the screw without damaging the recess. For Torx tools, see Torx bits, keys, and drivers. Length is measured from under the head.

Metric 18-8 Stainless Steel Precision Shoulder Screws

Made of 18-8 stainless steel, these shoulder screws have good corrosion resistance and may be mildly magnetic. With a shoulder diameter that is twice as precise as our general purpose shoulder screws, they provide smooth, accurate movement. Use them where precision matters, such as in measuring devices, optical fixtures, and laboratory equipment.

Tapered Heat-Set Inserts for Plastic

The tapered shape makes it easier to guide these inserts into a hole during installation. Use a drill bit to create a straight hole, then taper the top half. Heat inserts with a soldering tip so that they melt the plastic when installed. As the plastic cools, it solidifies around the knurls and ridges on the insert for excellent resistance to both torque and pull-out.
Made with lead, brass inserts are stronger than aluminum and other brass alloys but not as strong as 18-8 stainless steel inserts. They have good corrosion resistance.
Inserts that meet ASTM standards comply with specifications for material quality.

Stainless Steel Helical Inserts

Also known as Heli-Coil inserts, these inserts have coils that expand once installed to securely anchor the insert. All have a prong for ease of installation. An installation tool grips the prong and reduces the coil diameter, enabling the insert to fit in tapped holes. Remove the prong to insert the screw. Installation requires a drill bit, a helical insert tap, an installation tool, and a prong break-off tool.

Stainless Steel Screw-Locking Helical Inserts

A distorted thread grips the screw to resist loosening.
