    Fiber-Optic Cords

Connect computers, servers, and switches in a fiber-optic network.
    LC Plug × LC Plug
Image of Product. Front orientation. Fiber-Optic Cords. LC Connection.
Cords with LC connections have push-pull connectors that lock in place with a latch. Their connectors are about half the size of SC and ST connectors, so they’re best for devices in tight spaces as well as crowded racks and panels.
Single-Mode OS2 Cable—Single-mode cords are good for long distances and often used between buildings.
Multimode OM1 Cable and Multimode OM4 Cable—Multimode cords are often used for shorter runs within buildings. OM1 cords support 10 Gigabit Ethernet at lengths up to 33 meters. They are used for Local Area Networks (LAN).
OFNR Cable—OFNR (optical fiber nonconductive riser) cords prevent the spread of fire from floor to floor within buildings. Use them in vertical spaces, such as shafts, between floors. They cannot be installed in plenum areas. These cords are corrosion resistant. They release heavy black smoke, hydrochloric acid, and other toxic gases when they burn.

    DIN-Rail-Mount Ethernet Switches

Mount these Ethernet switches onto a standard 35 mm DIN rail alongside PLCs, relays, and power supplies—they snap in place and stay secure. They connect computers, sensors, and other devices to the same network so they can talk to each other, access the Internet, and provide you with real-time diagnostics. Switches do not require set up—just plug in a device and it will be connected to your network. These switches are backward compatible, so they'll work in networks below their rated transmission speed. For example, a 100 Mbit/s switch will work in a 10 Mbit/s network, but it will only run at 10 Mbit/s.
Ethernet Switches With SC Fiber-Optic Ports
Image of Product. Front orientation. Contains Inset. Ethernet Switches. DIN-Rail-Mount Ethernet Switches, Ethernet Switches With SC Fiber-Optic Ports.
Switches with SC fiber-optic ports accept multimode fiber-optic cords.
For Multimode OM4 Cable—Multimode OM4 cords transmit further distances than standard Ethernet cables and with increased bandwidth. They are designed for high-speed data transmission applications, such as data centers. OM4 is backward compatible with older multimode fibers, allowing seamless upgrades in existing networks.

    Fiber-Optic Connector Pliers

Image of Product. Front orientation. Contains Inset. Fiber-Optic Connector Pliers.
Pliers for fiber optic connectors insert and extract LC connectors in tightly packed patch panels. They’re for LC and SC simplex, MU, and other similar connectors. One jaw has a rubber strip, so you can safely and securely grip connectors without damaging them or surrounding parts. They have plastic grips for comfort.
Spring-Assisted Jaws—Pliers with spring-assisted jaws automatically open when you release the handles.

    Fiber-Optic Cable

Image of Product. Front orientation. Fiber-Optic Cable.
Send data between data centers and workstations in fiber-optic networks. The plastic outer jacket on this cable is flame retardant for safe indoor use, and resists water and UV light for outdoor use. Because it works both indoors and outdoors, there’s no need for a transition splice when routing the cable into buildings. Each inner fiber also has a layer of plastic insulation to protect signals and add flexibility. This cable is non-conductive, so grounding or bonding is not required.
Multimode OM3 Cable—Multimode cable is often used to transmit data over short distances, such as within buildings and local area networks (LANs). It has a large core diameter, so it’s easier to terminate and install than single-mode cable. However, it has lower bandwidth.
OFNP Cable—ONFP cable is for use in horizontal shafts, such as in ducts and above drop ceilings.
Single-Mode OS2 Cable—Single-mode cable is often used to send data between buildings. It has a small core diameter, which reduces signal loss. It transmits data over longer distances and has a higher bandwidth than multimode cable.
OFNR Cable—OFNR cable is for use in vertical shafts and large facilities with multiple levels.
Fiber Count—Fiber count refers to the number of optical fibers inside a cable. The higher the count, the more data you can send. You can branch each fiber into its own individual cable if your network demands grow in the future.

    Cut and strip fiber-optic cable.
2 Pieces—2-piece kits include a wire cutter with high-carbon stainless steel blades that are strong enough to cut through optic fibers, wire insulation, and cable ties. They also include a wire stripper that has three openings for stripping different thicknesses of fiber-optic cable jackets down to the glass fiber.
11 Pieces—11-piece kits include a variety of tools to support a wide range of applications. Along with a standard wire cutter and wire stripper, there are three additional cable strippers and a ringer to handle an array of fiber-optic cable jacket shapes, sizes, and buffer coatings. To make it easy to access your cable, there are pliers, a flashlight, and a screwdriver. Use the wipes to clean optical surfaces, bare fibers, and connector ends.
