    Single-Cut Tooth

    Flame burs are for contoured surfaces, slots, and holes.
    Carbide—Best for removing material from a variety of metals. These burs are harder, stronger, and more wear resistant than high-speed steel.
    High-Speed Steel—The choice for general purpose deburring on steel, though not as strong as carbide.
    Double-Cut Tooth—Double-cut tooth burs are for rapid metal removal with a coarser finish than single cut.
    Single-Cut Tooth with Chip Breaker—Remove material fast with a fine finish. These burs cut like double-cut tools but leave a single-cut finish. They have single-cut teeth divided by diagonal rows of chip breakers. The chip breakers tackle your roughing work and reduce the pressure needed to cut, while the single-cut teeth create a smooth surface.
