Portable Multi-Gas Detectors

When this detector senses high levels of combustible and toxic gases, it alerts you with an audible alarm, warning light, and vibrating alarm. You can adjust the alarm trigger points to suit your environment. There is also a motion sensor that sounds an alarm if the user becomes disabled.
A calibration check must be performed on the detector before each use to verify that it is working properly. The check requires a regulator and cylinder (sold separately).
Note: LEL is lower explosive limit.

Vacuum Cleaners for Combustible Metal Powder

Simultaneously clean up and neutralize metal powders and other combustible dust, such as coal, plastic, and flour. These vacuums collect combustible dust in a bag, then submerge the bag in a water or mineral oil bath. This makes the dust inert. Because some metal powders emit gas when added to an immersion bath, the vacuums also have a degassing valve to vent any gas that builds up.
The vacuum and tools dissipate static, so they won’t suddenly discharge electricity that could ignite your powder or nearby gases. The nozzle and crevice tool are small enough to use in compact spaces, such as 3D printer housings.
These vacuums are CSA certified for use in all NEC Class II environments—those where combustible dusts are present under normal operating conditions. In addition, they’re also certified for use in Class I, Divisions 1 and 2, Group D environments, so they can be used in environments where flammable gases, vapors, and liquids with characteristics similar to propane can be found under normal operating conditions.

Vacuum Systems for Powered Sanders
Collect debris while you sand by connecting these vacuum systems to your air-powered or electric sanders. Their built-in manifold has one input and two outputs for compressed air, so one of these systems can take debris from two sanders. Automatically switching on and off when your sander does, they minimize energy costs, wasted time, and noise. All are static-dissipative, so they reduce the risk of sparking, which is a concern when you’re creating flammable debris. They also come with a HEPA-rated filter cartridge that keeps them from circulating the debris they gather. These filters remove at least 99.95% of particles that are 0.3 microns or larger.
To connect them to your sander, add a vacuum hose with integrated air line. The air line connects to the sander’s ¼ NPT air inlet and the hose connects to the 1”-dia. vacuum connection. Otherwise, choose air and vacuum hose that matches your sander’s connections.
Vacuum systems with wheels are easy to roll between sanding stations and into storage.
Use vacuum hose kits to manually clean your workspace, unattached from the sander.

Hazardous Location Drain Vents

Safe for use around hazardous gasses and dust, these vents maintain steady pressure and prevent moisture buildup from temperature changes inside enclosures. They allow air to flow through the enclosures while protecting the contents from washdowns, dirt, and weather. Install these vents at the lowest point on an enclosure, so moisture can drip out.
Flameproof drains reduce the risk of igniting flammable gasses and dust if an explosion occurs within the enclosure.
316 stainless steel drains stand up to corrosion. They’re best for areas with salt water.

Hazardous Location 30 mm Panel-Mount Key Switches
Designed for use near ignitable gases, fibers, and dust, these switches have a housing that seals in anything that could ignite flammable material. You’ll know they’re safe because they’re NEC Class 1, Division 2 Groups A-D and NEC Zone 1 Groups IIC-IIA certified for hazardous locations. These switches require a key to turn circuits on or off, preventing accidental actuation and limiting access to sensitive equipment. Since they’re keyed alike, all open with the same key. Install them in a standard panel cutout.
Switches that control two circuits come with a contact block for each circuit.
Additional contact blocks (sold separately) can be added to control more circuits, or to replace the included contact block.
