Compare rigid and flexible conduit materials and identify the trade size for compatible fittings.

Flexible Metal (FMC) Conduit and Fittings

Image of System. Front orientation. Conduit and Fittings. Flexible Metal (FMC) Conduit and Fittings.
Make tight bends and protect wiring from being crushed. This corrugated conduit snakes around corners where rigid metal conduit won’t fit. For use indoors, it’s ideal for short connections or runs through walls in spaces that require both flexibility and durability.

Run wiring through conduit to route and protect it.
Bend and Stay—Flex this conduit and it stays routed in position. It is not designed for repeated bending, which can weaken the construction.
Galvanized Steel—Strong and resists rust and mild chemicals.
Zinc-Plated Steel—The strength of steel with a plating that protects from occasional exposure to moisture.
304 Stainless Steel—The choice for wet and outdoor environments.
Aluminum—One-third the weight of steel that's the same size. Aluminum is also nonmagnetic to prevent electrical interference in nearby equipment.

Zinc-Plated Steel—The strength of steel with a plating that protects from occasional exposure to moisture.
304 Stainless Steel—The choice for wet and outdoor environments.
316 Stainless Steel—Our most corrosion-resistant fittings won't degrade when exposed to salt water and harsh chemicals.
Aluminum—One-third the weight of steel that's the same size. Aluminum is also nonmagnetic to prevent electrical interference in nearby equipment.
Nickel-Plated Brass—The plating enhances the corrosion resistance of brass, adding a durable protective finish.
PVC Molded Gasket—Creates a seal for moisture protection.
Serrated Facing—Grips the material surface for added stability.

Image of Product. Front orientation. Conduit Locknut and Reaming Pliers.
Tighten locknuts and ream both the inside and outside of conduit with one tool. These pliers have combination jaws with multiple curved openings to work with 1/2" (13 mm) and 3/4" (19 mm) EMT conduit locknuts and 1/2" rigid conduit locknuts and flat nuts. Their machined nose fits snugly into locknut wings. They can also pull wire and fish tape, thanks to their serrated jaws. Pliers have plastic grips for comfort.
