Polypropylene Rods

- Color: White
- Temperature Range: 45° to 180° F
- Tensile Strength: 4,060-4,930 psi (Poor)
- Impact Strength 0.9-1.9 ft.-lbs./in. (Poor)
- Hardness: Rockwell R80-R90 (Hard)
- For Use Outdoors: No
A good all-around choice, these rods have a hard, slippery surface that won’t bind or stick to cutting tools. They’re often used to make parts for laboratory equipment because they resist swelling when exposed to water. Polypropylene has good electrical insulation properties.

Chemical-Resistant Slippery PTFE Sheets

The naturally slippery surface makes these sheets a good choice for bearings, gears, and parts that slide and roll. PTFE surpasses most plastic when it comes to chemical resistance and performance in extreme temperatures. It is easy to machine and is an excellent electrical insulator.
Tight-tolerance sheets are consistently flat, square, and parallel on all six sides.

Wear-, Impact-, and Chemical-Resistant PTFE Rods

- Color: See table
- Temperature Range: -400° to 550° F
- Tensile Strength: 2,000-3,100 psi (Poor)
- Impact Strength: 6 ft.-lbs./in. (Excellent)
- Hardness: Not Rated (Medium)
- For Use Outdoors: No
- Specifications Met: See table
PTFE is modified with a filler material to create these impact-resistant rods. They have a super-slippery surface that resist wear, as well as excellent resistance to chemicals and extreme temperatures. These easy-to-machine rods are nonabsorbent, so they won’t swell when exposed to water. They’re also good electrical insulators.
Grade 641 is often used to fabricate bearings and pump parts.
